In this research project, several classes of sedond-year Sojo university studens were asked to complete an independent study project of their own choosing for one semester. Over the course of the semester, they were asked to track their total English usage and study habits. The study also examined students' beliefs about their own language abilities and the amount of time they acutually studied outside the lassroom, as well as whether thei used the SALC to aid them in their independent study project.
