Mucinous cystic ovarian tumors sometimes contain calcifications, but the frequency and significance of such calcifications in diagnostic radiology are not well understood. We therefore retrospectively investigated the radiological and histopathological evidence of calcifications in 44 cases of ovarian mucinous cystic tumors (22 benign, 13 borderline, and 9 malignant) and 21 cases of ovarian serous cystic tumors (6 benign and 15 malignant) in which a non-contrast CT scan was performed. The shape and distribution of the calcifications in the mass lesion were assessed both radiologically and histopathologically. Calcifications were noted in 34.1% of mucinous cystic tumors on CT scans and 56.8% in histopathological studies, and they were found in two locations, intramural and intra-cystic, according to the histopathological findings. Intramural calcifications were frequent in benign tumors, and intra-cystic calcifications were frequent in proliferating tumors. Calcifications (psammoma bodies) were noted in 4.7% of serous cystic tumors on CT scans and 14.3% in histopathological studies. CT was not sufficiently sensitive in the detection of intra-cystic calcification in mucinous tumors and psammoma bodies in serous tumors. However, the presence of intramural calcifications may be a good indicator of mucinous tumors. Understanding the frequency and morphology of the calcifications in these neoplasms is one of the keys to making a correct diagnosis.

【Purpose】In the clinical training of the physical therapist(following, PT), it lasts for a case report and a daily notebook, many divergences including the investigation learning that are imposed during training, and were demanded, and the burden was big quantitatively in terms of time. We tried to clarify this fact by objective data handling.【Methods】We explained this action beforehand and intended for the leader of training 5 facilities where the agreement was provided and the person in charge, nine trainee and three teachers of our academy. And we visited each facility once a week for the hearing of students and RPT. We performed analysis using the technique called“text mining”in this report in order to evade risk as much as possible.Soft“KH Coder”which I used this time abolishes“the manual labor”that can become arbitrary on choosing the word, and operation enables freedom in making it and coexistence of the objectivity by stepping on a procedure to show summarizing the whole data by a multivariate analysis, and showing it and a coding rule.【Results】As a result, the positive item showed a tendency to become higher in the middle stage of clinical training. And negative became decreased after the fourth week. In addition, as a result of co-occurrence network by the text mining, each comments of progress note tended to change every week.【Discussion】As a result of co-occurrence network from a progressive notebook, the data said that teacher's intervention were necessary that adaptation to the environment of the student and support about the on-site learning.

The objective of this study was to clarify the efficacy of a currently-available DEET repellent against tick species in Japan. We performed two different field trials: “human trap,” and “flag-dragging.” In total, 482 ticks were collected from white flannel cloths in field studies. The species of collected ticks consisted of Ixodes persulcatus and I. ovatus which accounted for 5.3 and 94.7% in the human trap test and 31.4 and 68.6% in the flag-dragging test, respectively. The repellency levels of DEET-treated flannel cloths in the human trap and flag-dragging tests were 84.0 and 99.7%, respectively. The escape time of I. persulcatus and I. ovatus female adults from DEET-treated flannel cloth was measured. Median escape times for I. persulcatus and I. ovatus on DEET-treated flannel cloth were 48 s (95% CI: 30–96) and 10 s (95% CI: 5–24), respectively. In contrast, many ticks remained on untreated flannel for 10 min after mounting. These results indicate that DEET repellents appear to prevent tick bites and that the use of DEET repellents against ticks is effective as a personal protective measure.
