This article reviews different studies on the gelation mechanisms and network structural characteristics in polysaccharide gels at the different length scales of observation: macroscopic, microscopic, and molecular. Rheological and micro-DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry) measurements represent the macroscopic viewpoints on the gelation of pure kappa-carrageenan (KC), iota-carrageenan (IC) and KC⁄IC mixtures. Microscopic rheological properties observed using particle tracking experiments have been used to elucidate the formation of heterogeneous networks of KC-rich and IC-rich domains in mixed KC⁄IC gels, and facilitate observations of their aging process. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) relaxation time measurements provide information on the tumbling motion and local mobility; these molecular-level experiments were presented for agar, agarose, native gellan and deacylated gellan chains. NMR diffusion measurements of gelling and probe polymers give insights to the conformational changes, aggregation and network formation, and aging mechanisms, and are presented for all studied polysaccharides.

This paper presents a wide rate range receiver including adaptive continuous time linear equalizer (CTLE) and loop-unrolled half rate decision feedback equalizer (DFE). A hybrid filter is adopted to expand the rate range of adaptive CTLE with spectrum balancing technology. The current-integrating summer is introduced to reduce the power of half-rate loop-unrolled DFE. The post-simulation is carried out by 0.18µm CMOS TSMC technology and the results show that the rate range of adaptive CTLE can reach to 6.25-10Gb/s. When the 10 Gb/s PRBS7 signal is transmitted through the 18-inch FR4 backplane with 15.451dB loss at Nyquist frequency, the eye diagram is obviously open and its horizontal opening is about 0.9UI.

It is important to consider curvature properties around the control points to produce natural-looking results in the vector illustration. C2 interpolating splines satisfy point interpolation with local support. Unfortunately, they cannot control the sharpness of the segment because it utilizes trigonometric function as blending function that has no degree of freedom. In this paper, we alternate the definition of C2 interpolating splines in both interpolation curve and blending function. For the interpolation curve, we adopt a rational Bézier curve that enables the user to tune the shape of curve around the control point. For the blending function, we generalize the weighting scheme of C2 interpolating splines and replace the trigonometric weight to our novel hyperbolic blending function. By extending this basic definition, we can also handle exact non-C2 features, such as cusps and fillets, without losing generality. In our experiment, we provide both quantitative and qualitative comparisons to existing parametric curve models and discuss the difference among them.
