2016年参院選、17年衆院選、19年参院選と国政選挙の後に実施した、さいたま市の高校生に対する意識調査の結果をもとに、若者の投票行動および政治意識の推移を考察する。調査結果からは、在学中の3年の間に、高校生の選挙への関心や投票への動機づけの低減が明らかとなる。併せて、政治への不満や政治家に対する不信の度合いも大きく低下している。政治や政治家へのマイナス・イメージの低減は、現状の肯定というより、彼らが政治を意識すること自体がなくなりつつあることを示唆している。In this study, we will examine the changes in voting behavior and political consciousness of young people based on the results of opinion surveys of high school students in Saitama City. These surveys were conducted after the 2016 House of Councilors elections, 2017 House of Representatives elections, and 2019 House of Councilors elections. The results of the survey show a reduction in the students’ interest toward elections and motivation for voting in these three years. At the same time, there has been a significant decline in the degree of dissatisfaction with politics, and mistrust of politicians. The decline in the negative image of politics and politicians alludes to young people losing political awareness rather than an affirmation of the status quo.
