Sarashina-nikki, as follows, can divide into four parts. The first is a diary of the travel to Kyoto from east country. The second is a record of life at the Kyoto home. In this, an article of the separation with older sister by death is included. The third is a record of court life. The fourth is an article of visit to various temples and shrine. In these parts, it can recognize that several diaries and essays (Tosa-nikki, Kagerou-nikki, Murasakishikibu-nikki, Makura-no-soushi so on) have an influence on Sarashina-nikki. From this, you can understand that this diary has the various elements. So, what constitutes a characteristic feature on this work? This dissertation discussed mainly it. In the first part of this diary, the travel is written as opposition of the light space and the dark space. In the next place, it is pointed out that Kyoto home belongs to the latter. As for this opposition of two spaces, in the article of court life and worships it exists likewise. And in it, you can see that stories, the moon and dreams have been mediated between two spaces.

I introduce automatic music composition software using Markov chain. The automatic musiccomposition generates melody, chord and rhythm known as three elements of the music. In thesoftware, the melody is decided by 3-gram analysis and double Markov chain , and the chord is decided in original algorithm. This algorithm is called the downbeat-dependence method in this paper.As a result, I succeeded in creating a music composition that has characteristics very similar to the original. Furthermore, the type of chord in automatically-formed musical composition has been found to be greater than the number of the original music.

Recently, EM bacteria have been used for the purification of sewage. EM bacteria are effective microorganisms that contain Lactobacillus bacteria, yeast, mold, and photosynthetic bacteria. Handling of the EM1 material, which was provided by the EM Laboratory, is inconvenient because the material is a liquid. This study examines the facilitation of handling by immobilizing the EM1 liquid on solid materials, which are porous and adsorptive. We developed materials that immobilized the EM bacteria for purifying sewage. The materials examined are bamboo charcoal, coal ash (clinker ash), and porous tuff. All of these materials are EM bacteria carriers.

Dye-sensitized solar cell has been noticed as the solar cell of a new generation. This is the colorful solar cell and is able to be produced from simple materials. It is considered that our students and schoolchildren will be interested for this characteristic. We extracted a variety of natural dyes from the plants and made the dye-sensitized solar cell using those natural dyes. On the basis of those experiments, the introduction to chemical experiment and delivery Lectures have been widely investigated.
