In recent years, there has been an increase in social interest in maltreatment for children, but there are not many studies on maltreatment in facilities such as kindergartens and nurseries. The purpose of this study was to explore organizational factors related to maltreatment in early childhood education and care facilities. We conducted an online survey of 200 kindergartens or nurseries workers (56 men, 144 women, average age 41.84 years) regarding “maltreatment”, “teamwork” that meant harmony in the organization, and “openness of the organization”. As a result of analysis of variance with “teamwork” and “openness” as independent variables, and “maltreatment” as a dependent variable, a significant main effect of “teamwork” was detected. It suggested that higher teamwork produced lower maltreatment. Based on the results, discussions were made on the mechanism by which maltreatment occurs in the facility and future research issues.
