It is the purpose of this paper to clear the architectural characteristics of the KOGANE. The followings were clarified .It seems that KOGANE was built for Japanese-style architecture in the red-light district in the early Meiji-era. It was a peak of skill of Japanese wooden architecture. So the transoms of moon & bats , gooses fretwork were very fine skill and specific architectural characteristics. And the law balustrade surrounded Japanese veranda was too. The only KOGANE has existed in formerly those days architecture.

In this paper, it is reported on the current status of our efforts since last year, including the outline of the platform for synchronous collection of data output from four cameras for capturing the surrounding environment of the vehicle and the driving behavior of the driver, and one IMU sensor installed in the vehicle, as well as the results of data collection and analysis assuming a pedestrian running out as a verification experiment on campus. Based on the needs of medical professionals who have extensive experience in making medical decisions regarding the driving of senior, the objective of the development was to simplify measurement and analysis through sensor fusion. The developed platform uses four Raspberry Pis and a communication system called ROS (Robot Operating System) 2 to link them together. In addition, the platform includes a user interface system to enhance the convenience of operation using the M5Stack Core2. The experimental results show that our platform is inexpensive, highly customizable and synchronized.

At the time of the COVID-19 Crisis in April 2021, the author became a homeroom teacher for the first grade in National Institute of Technology (KOSEN), Kumamoto College. We feel that the classroom could not be ventilated smoothly, so we develop and install the CO2 monitor system in the classroom with electric parts on hand quickly. The knowledge required to develop a CO2 monitor system is not limited to circuits and programs. For example, reading electronic parts specifications written in English, operating development tools such as circuit board CAD and circuit simulator, and setting up a Web server to transmit CO2 data are required. After installation of the CO2 monitor system, the author presents the development story of it to students and conduct a questionnaire survey. As a result, we confirm that the CO2 monitor system has effects on the students' study motivation.

The causal relationship between the number of failing subjects on an exam and each subject were analyzed by means of structural equation modeling (SEM). The data used were the results of the first semester final examinations of sophomore belonging to the Department of Information, Communication and Electronic Engineering of Kumamoto National College of Technology. Since these data provide unsuitable solution, a stepwise method was applied to extract four subjects that affect the number of failing subjects. These subjects are mathematics, physics, computer engineering and engineering practice, which are the base of science and engineering. I also determined the number of latent variables by means of scree plots and dendrograms. Then I propose a causal model in which one latent variables behind the four subjects affect the number of failing subjects. The lavaan package on R was used to apply the SEM. From the goodness-of-fit indices, it was found that the model explained well the causal relationship related to the number of failing subjects.

Long-term changes in characteristics of bomb-cyclones around Japan from the former years (1979-1992) to the latter years (1993-2007) were investigated in winter (November – February), using analysis data of Japanese 25-year Reanalysis / JMA Climate Data Assimilation System (JRA/JCDAS). It was found that the frequency of the “bomb”, in which the deepening rate of central sea level pressure was the maximum in the lifetime of each cyclone and the deepening rate was over a criterion, was increased to the east of Japan in the northwestern Pacific and decreased over the north Pacific. Similar changes were identified in the frequency of heavy precipitation. Moreover, energy budget analyses were conducted for two composited anomaly fields constructed for bomb-cyclones in the former years and the latter years. The comparison between them indicated that the change in the development rate of bomb-cyclones was attributed to the change in the energy supply from the condensational heating.

A purpose of this paper is to clarify the present conditions of the town house called machiya left in the old townspeople’s district in the central city area of Yatsushiro-shi. There are 986 buildings. This paper makes clear that about 37% of buildings do a form of machiya among all these buildings. People have the impression that there are few traditional buildings. One of the reasons is because the facades of about 27% of all machiyas were repaired. We study one of those machiyas with a measurement survey and a hearing survey. Based on the result, we make the restoration drawing of the machiya of the begining of the Showa era and report the architectural characteristics. We will think that we can clarify a characteristic of the machiya of the central city area of Yatsushiro-shi by investigating other machiyas in future.
