本稿はインド市場を攻略するスズキの現地子会社マルチ・スズキ社の事業活動について、公開資料の他、スズキ本社やマルチ・スズキへのヒアリングをもとに整理したものである。1983年に進出した当初より一貫して同社は現地自動車市場においてリーディング・カンパニーだが、当時と現在とでは競合他社の数や技術水準の向上など、競争環境がまったく異なる。そのような環境にありながら、マルチ・スズキは近年さらに競争優位を獲得してきている。本稿はその具体的な活動内容について整理するものである。

Jenkins and Lambert (1993) and Chambaz and Maurin (1998) proposed extensions of the sequential generalized Lorenz dominance (SGL) criterion that was proposed by Atkinson and Bourguignon (1987): the extended version of SGL made it possible to compare distributions for different demographics. However, the tests to check the extended SGL “are not expressible in terms of generalized Lorenz curves” (Lambert 2001, p.79). In this paper, we show that the dominance condition can be easily checked by sequential comparisons of a modified version of the generalized Lorenz curve. We apply this procedure by comparing the income distributions of Italian households using data obtained from the Survey on Household Income and Wealth (SHIW, Bank of Italy) from 2006 and 2012.

When adult children expect that their parents will bequeath residential property to them, they may show their appreciation by providing their parents with financial support. This paper theoretically and empirically examines this possibility. We adopt a simple noncooperative game framework with a Stackelberg equilibrium to examine the reciprocal interdependence between the propensity of housing inheritance and financial assistance when formal care affects decision-making. We use data from Japanese households to test this interaction. After considering both the censoring of financial transfers and the specification of inheritance propensity, which we control for using information on formal care, our empirical results suggest that the propensity to inherit the parental home has a significantly positive impact on the amount of transfers from children to their parents. Consequently, an implicit annuity contract in the form of an intrafamily reverse mortgage appears to exist in Japanese society. However, parents should ensure they convey to their children a high expectation of future housing inheritance to extract sufficient financial assistance for their current consumption needs.

近年,わが国企業においてもM&A(Mergers and Acquisitions:合併と買収)が活発に行われ,戦略目標の達成手段としてすっかり定着した感があるが,必ずしもその成功に結び付いてはいないという調査結果もだされている。M&Aの成否に重要な影響をもつと指摘されているのがPMI(Post-Merger Integration:ポスト・マージャー・インテグレーション)あるいは「ポストM&A」と呼ばれるM&A後の統合プロセス/作業である。したがって,M&Aの成功率を高めるためには,効果的なPMIを展開していくことが不可欠であり,そのためには,まずわが国企業で行われているPMIの実態解明が必要であると考えられる。そこで本稿では,2016年に筆者が行ったアンケート調査結果とこれまで行われた先行調査結果との比較等にもとづき,「M&Aの成功」と「PMIの実態」に関する問題について検討を行い,今後,効果的なPMIのあり方を構想する際の検討事項・課題を析出したものである。

本稿は多国籍企業における国際ビジネスの展開において、IoTがどのようにかかわっているかについて、特に国際標準との関係性から考察を加えているものである。国境を挟んだ事業運営を前提とした旧来の国際ビジネス研究と異なり、業種や業界を超えることが前提となる IoTビジネスでは、何が、どう異なるのかということについて、既存研究では十分な整理ができていない。本稿は、その整理をする上での端緒に位置づけられるものと捉えている。
