Yunnan province is a great gemstone locality in China. Among the 140 species of minerals which were found there, 4 major gemstones of Emerald from Malipo, Southern red agate from Longyang district of Baoshan, Yellow agate of “Huang Long Yu” from Longling province of Baoshan and Colorful agate of “Shi Lin Cai Yu” from Shilin are introduced here. These gemstones are often cut as cabochon and also used for carving. As the local gemstones, they are promoted well in China.
