インターネット上でコミュニケーションを行う場の一つとして注目されている招待制の SNS には「現実の人間関係を再現し、人と人とのつながりを重視したコミュニケーションを支援する」という特徴がある。しかし既存の SNS では、そうしたつながりを通して「友達の友達」を知ることはできるが、それを足がかりに新たな人間関係を構築することへの支援には改善の余地がある。そこで本研究では、「自分」「友達(仲介者)」「友達の友達」までが参加できる仲介型のチャットを組み込んだ新しい SNS を設計・開発した。8人の被験者による評価実験を行ったところ、SNS と仲介型チャットの組み合わせが友達の輪を広げるのに有効である可能性が示唆された。Invitation-only SNS sites, which attract considerable attention for the communication on the Internet, allow participants to bring their relationship from the real world into the computer network. A participant can find his/her friend's friends through the relationship. However, the SNS should have more effective functions that help him/her make friends with the friend's friends smoothly. We integrated a chat function into our new SNS system; each participant has a chat room, and can invite his/her friends to act as an intermediary. We also conducted an experimental evaluation that involved eight participants. The result indicates the possibility that the combination of an SNS system and a chat function can support the relationship extension effectively.
