A PID temperature control system was built with a Peltier device and an educational visual programming language called Scratch. Homemade interface board using PIC18F2550 microcontroller with USB interface was included in the PID control system. The Peltier device was connected to the interface board via an H bridge circuit. Highly precise temperature control was performed using a feedback circuit with a thermistor and PI algorithm. Developed system can be applied to a cooling module for semiconductor devices and a teaching material for instrumentation and control engineering.
