本事例は、生徒の生活ノートと連動した学級通信を発行し続けている中学校教師の実践を詳細に分析し、一つの事例として検討することを通して、改めて学級通信の役割と作成の視点を明らかにした。生徒・保護者・同僚職員のアンケート調査から、生徒の文章表現力を高め、担任教師と生徒との信頼関係を築き、生徒同士の仲間意識を醸成することをねらいとした生活ノート連動型学級通信は、先行研究で指摘されている「保護者との連携」「子どもとの信頼関係」「教師としての資質向上」「子ども同士の信頼関係」を構築するツールとして機能していたことが示唆された。

The purpose of this study is to understand the reality of how teachers support truant students and how effective they believe the measures they take to be. In a questionnaire survey of 227 teachers, we asked them to recollect their successful and unsuccessful support cases and assess each intervention by answering multiple-choice questions designed to find out which of 32 support methods they had used, and how effective they thought the methods they used were. As a result, it was found that there was no correlation between the rates at which a method was chosen and its success or failure. All the methods used in successful cases rated higher and in some cases the differences were statistically significant. Also, methods used in unsuccessful cases were rated lower in junior high school case assessments compared to that of elementary schools, suggesting that junior high school teachers are having a tougher time in supporting truant junior high school students.
