This paper is concerned with potential expressions in Fukue and Kishuku dialect in Goto island, Nagasaki, Japan. Potential expressions in Japanese are classified into potential and actual. Furthermore, it hassubclassifications- potentiality in emotion, ability, internal condition, external condition, attribute in an object.In two dialects they are expressed by using [-yuru], [-raru], [-kiru] and others.In this paper, after having compared these two dialects, I will present their overviews.
