This exploratory study examines an implementation of encounter-groups based on undergraduate and graduate students’ nature experience activities with regards to their respective self-reflections, self-efficacy, and self-growth. The questionnaire survey, unveiled the natural experience that positively influenced the participants’ self-efficacy (proactivity, fear of failure and self-assessment of one’s abilities in comparison to others) and self-growth (achievement motive, attitude towards putting in effort). The interview survey helped reveal the factors that were influential. In the unusual yet natural environment, the participants experienced successes (achievements and overcoming failures) and misses in the various activities. Additionally, the nonstructured encounter-group was provided an opportunity in which the participants could selfreflect while receiving feedback from others. This contributed to the participants’ self-efficacy and self-growth.
