The traditional Japanese teahouse garden is the essence of traditional Japanese tea culture and traditional Japanese architecture. The stepping stones laid in the tea garden offer a connection between the tea house and the external space. Taking the circulation of stepping stones in the traditional Japanese tea gardens as the object, the present study analyzed and examined its layout form, physical form, and its constitution relationship with landscape elements through data survey and other means. It has revealed the circulation of stepping stones allows for the transition of time and space in the process of entering a tea house through a "complicated" design method.

本研究は, 中国明・清時代における平地作庭の「石組」に着目し, その造景手法について考察することを目的とした。研究の方法は関連する歴史文献実測図等により, 石組の発達史を踏まえながら, 図面データ及び現地調査による定量分析を行った。その結果, 中国明・清時代における石組の特徴を明らかにするとともに造景手法との関係についても明らかにした。特に石組における配石構成の特置及び仮山は, 造景手法に広く関係し, 平地作庭の造景に重要な役割を果たしていることがわかった。
