The texture of powder cosmetics, such as "smoothness" and "moist feeling", is one of the most important properties for the usability assessment. In general, we rely upon the sensory evaluation for cosmetics. However, such subjective evaluation tends to be vague because of not only the lack of evaluators' skill but also the reproducibility error on environmental factors. Therefore, a highly-reliable evaluation method by using physical properties, such as particulate mechanical characteristics, is desired. In this study, we investigated the correlation between the sense of use and physical properties by the direct shear testing of the powder bed for five kinds of cosmetic powder. As a result, we found that internal friction coefficient μi was correlated with the "smoothness". Furthermore, the shearing cohesion τc and the degree of PYL (Powder Yield Locus) curve were related to "moist feeling", respectively.

The acceleration of diffusion of the DER (distributed energy resources) is hoped for because of the promotion for highly effective use of energy, especially in the house and commercial section in Japan. From this point of view, it is necessary to focus on the feature of DER such as intermittent renewable resources, low quality and low density. The purpose of our study is to clarify the demand of multi (involved low) quality energy and to solve the problem which is optimization of the energy network supply system whose alternative is DER system and large power grid. For these reasons, in this paper, we drew up and sent out questionnaires and analyzed them by CVM. After we evaluated the potential of the multi-quality energy supplying system, we concluded that low energy quality have enough possibility to supply for some of the home appliance.

We developed the scheme of profitability analysis of a microgrid. The scheme consists of 4 processes. The first process is to calculate the optimal sizing of energy supply system in a microgrid by solving mixed integer non-linear programming by using the General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS). The second one is to determine the distribution of system equipment by taking space in each area into account. The third one is to design electric equipment, such as transmission. The forth one is evaluation of pay-back time, reduction rate of primary energy consumption and that of carbon dioxide emission. By using this scheme we also evaluate pay-back time about construction of a microgrid in Tokyo.
