The way of learning on rice cooking was discussed from the viewpoints of utensil for cooking rice in the homemaking course at the elementary schools. The description in the course books had not made big changes. In the other hand, commentaries in elementary textbooks have changed little by little with the change of the times. The utensil for cooking rice in the cookery practice class of the homemaking course differed among regions and among schools. It may be important that the content of the subject, the homemaking course, adapts to the daily lives of students.
