Data center has been built with spread of cloud computing. Further, electric power consumption of it is growing rapidly. High power cooling fans are used for servers in the data center and there is a strong demand to increase power of it because of increase of quantity of heat from the servers. Contra-rotating rotors have been adopted for some of the high power cooling fans. It is important to clarify complicated internal flow condition and influence of a geometric shape of the cooling fans on performance and internal flow condition to achieve the high performance cooling fans. The performance characteristics of the front and rear rotor of high power contra-rotating small-sized cooling fan is clarified by numerical analysis and design guideline to improve the performance is discussed.

Small-sized axial fan is used as air cooler for electric equipments. But there is strong demand for higher power of fan according to the increase of quantity of heat from electric devices. Therefore, higher rotational speed design is necessary, however it causes the deterioration of efficiency and increases the noise. Contra-rotating axial fan is smaller than conventional axial fan under the same rotational speed, and is effective for lower rotational speed design under the same diameter. Then, contra-rotating rotors were proposed for the improvement of the performance of small-sized axial fans and the advantages of it on the point of view of the performance were confirmed. In the present paper, the performance curves and internal flow of the contra-rotating small-sized axial fan with 100mm diameter obtained by the experimental and numerical analysis results are shown and the pressure distribution and attack angle of rear rotor at the design flow rate are clarified. Furthermore, the influence of the blade row distance on the performance and internal flow condition is clarified and higher performance design of the contra-rotating small-sized axial fan are discussed.

This study is aimed at development of the extra-low head water turbine for an open channel from a viewpoint of using effectively unused hydropower energies, such as an irrigation channel. Then, paying attention to the cross-flow runner, authors eliminated the casing and tried the application as a water turbine for an open channel. In this paper, water turbine performance, the flow situation characteristics, and the flow in the runner were experimentally investigated about the water turbine. As a result, the following facts became clear. When initial depth of water is shallow, turbine efficiency is high in a low rotation region, and when initial depth of water is deep, turbine efficiency is high in a high rotation region. Unlike the runner in which the cross-flow runner which does not have a bottom plate has a bottom plate, air bubbles do not stagnate between blades to blade. Moreover, winding up of the water by a blade does not arise. Therefore, in a wide range rotation region, an output and turbine efficiency improves substantially.

研究では,血液ポンプに対し水圧変化および管路抵抗の変化,また血液ポンプ回転数の周期変動試験を組み込んだ自動負荷試験機を開発し,生体の循環動態同様の機械的な負荷能力の機能を確認することにある.開発した試験機については,疑似血液,拍動成分,コンプライアンス管などの追加と生体循環に近似した病態プログラムの機能を付加し,血液試験や動物実験回数を減少させつつ,多様な血液ポンプ類の特徴を明らかにし評価することが可能である.
