Discrete time Markov maintenance models are coupled with the theory of control of queues. Each system has an operating machine, spare machines and a repair facility. A decision maker has the option of opening or closing the repair shop when there are machines waiting for repair service, as well as the option of repairing or leaving an operating machine. A two-dimensional control limit policy is defined, and sufficient conditions for the optimality of a two-dimensional control limit policy are obtained for each model.

講演自分の将来を考える上で、人生は一度しかないのだから、いろいろと試行錯誤をした上で自分の適性や将来の目標を見つけた方がよい。そのためには、どのような情報に基づいて、どのように将来の進むべき道を決定をしていけばよいのか、その最適な方法を考えることが必要である。これまでの学問経験や政治家としての人生経験に基づいて、科学的な意思決定の方法とは何か、数学という学問が我々の生活の中でどれだけ重要な役割を果たしているのかなど、意思決定に関する文化情報学的考察をおこなう。
