Suspension analysis had been done for improvement of riding comfort. The analysis had the problem in the nonlinear characteristic modeling technologies of parts. We think that a rubber bush in the suspension which the analysis had not been so done in the present study. The mechanical character of rubber Bush is the rigidity different according to how to add power. It is character of velocity dependence that the rigidity is different according to the difference of the strain velocity. The rubber bush shape is circle and the fulid (oil) is contained in inside. In this study, we think that solid-fulid interaction analysis by FEM in order to reproduce the action of a rubber bush. We consider a vibration charactor of rubber bush and it is the purpose that we develop the computational model technology.

Obesity has become a serious problem worldwide in the modern society with the change of food culture. Obesity would be a cause of many diseases such as hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes. Considering obesity, we examined satiety closely related to energy intake. In this study, we focused on the number of chews and chewing frequency, which are factors of satiety, and analyzed the influence on it. In the experiment, we compared satiety, hunger and masticatory muscle activity among the conditions when participants ate the same amount of food under the condition that the number of chews and the chewing frequency were changed. As a result, the datas of the increase rate of satiety and the masticatory muscle activity showed that participants of low weight and normal weight who consumed foods by chewing many times, and participants of obesity who consumed foods with large masticatory muscle activity for each chew could feel fullness earlier. Using this result, people can reduce the energy intake naturally by feeling fullness early in the diet, and it is expected to improve the eating habits of obese people.

When designing systems that support remote instruction on physical tasks, one must consider requirements : 1) participants should be able to use non-verbal expressions, 2) they must be able to take an appropriate body arrangement to see and show gestures, 3) the instructor should be able to monitor operators and objects, 4) they must be able to organize the arrangement of bodies and tools and gestural expression sequentially and interactively. GestureMan was developed to satisfy these four requirements by using a mobile robot that embodies a remote instructor's actions. The mobile robot mounts a camera and a remote control laser pointer on it. Based on the experiments with the system we discuss the advantage and disadvantage of the current implementation.

Recent years, several multipoint-search-based meta-heuristics such as Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) have been proposed and have been proved to be efficient methods for global optimization problems. In this report, a new multipoint-search method, which is based on the interaction among search points is proposed. Some simulations using typical knapsack problems verify the search performance of the proposed method.

A method to design the function of the brassiere cup shape as developable surfaces and its developed shape using Gaussian Process Regression is proposed. A developable surface, which is generated by sweeping a straight line along a three-dimensional curve, can be seen many products such as ships, buildings, clothes, and so on. The shape has not only its aim which can be formulated but also that which cannot be formulated such as creativity. In this paper, we focus on a brassiere cup. A brassiere cup is composed of several patterns and the cup shape is designed by repeatedly making paper cup model and then checking its three-dimensional shape. For improvement of design efficiency of brassieres, such trial and error must be reduced. The difficulty of the design process is caused by the function of a brassiere cup. Its function, such as to enhance woman’s breast size, et.al., is difficult to formulate and not correlate its three-dimensional cup shape. In this paper, we aim to predict the function of brassiere cup from its cup shape for efficiency of design process of a brassiere cup. First, we formulate the cup shape as developable surface using differential geometry. Then, we proposed a method to parameterize a set of function which characterize the surface using Gaussian Process Regression. Finally, we experimented our proposed method when the evaluated value using its volume and size of the cup is given.

In this research, modified PARSEC airfoil representations are developed and they are investigated by the design exploration of airfoils for the Mars airplane. The existent PARSEC airfoil representation method is useful for the aerodynamic optimization and the knowledge discovery, because the original PARSEC airfoil is parameterized based on the aerodynamic theory. In this method, designer can directly define airfoil's parameters, the leading edge radius, the maximum thickness, the maximum camber, and so on, However, the original PARSEC representation cannot use for not subsonic flow (supersonic flow, low Reynolds number flow), because it was parameterized in consideration of a subsonic wing. To solve the several airfoil design problem, modified representation method is constructed and its design performance is investigated by solving multi-objective design problem. This study employs Genetic Algorithm (GA) for exploration of the multi-objective problem. Flowfield is solved by the structured Navier-Stokes solver with Baldwin-Lomax turbulent model. According to these results, the modified airfoil representation method can solve the design problem under the Martian atmosphere better than the original method.

Self-loosening of threaded fasteners sometimes occurs under dynamic loads such as vibration and shock. For mechanical structures, the self-loosening of threaded fasteners under transversely repeated load is particularly important. Although many parts for preventing the loosening of the bolt joints are evaluated the locking performance of selfloosening, there are not clear about the locking performance of the spring washer. The spring washers are used in many mechanical structures, so that in order to improve the reliability of the bolt joints, it is required to verify the effectiveness about the bolt loosening using the spring washer. In this paper, we clarified the effectiveness of the spring washer about the bolt loosening from the experimental evaluation of the bolt joints using the spring washer under the transverse vibration, and proposed the design guideline to adopt the spring washer based on the result. In the fastening using the spring washer, the lubrication state of the bearing surface and the mounting direction of the spring washer influence the self-loosening with rotation of the bolt joints under the transverse vibration. In order to prevent the self-loosening of the bolt joints using a spring washer, it is necessary to satisfy the condition that the fastening surface does not slip. And the spring washer functions effectively as the bolt tension compensation only when the residual bolt tension is smaller than the contact load of the spring washer.
