Recently, to reduce the inconvenience caused by authentication operations in portable terminals such as smartphones, various authentication methods based on behavior characteristics have been studied. We proposed authentication method which identified individuals based on walking motions measured by wearable sensors such as acceleration sensors, and can be implemented on a smartphone (as smartphones are equipped with sensors). In the many case of multimodal biometrics authentication with machine learning, the common classifier for all users is generated. One of the reasons for this is that these authentication systems are installed into the equipment shared by users, such as the server computer. This server computer identifies the all authorized persons and the non-authorized persons. However, each smartphone is occupied by each user and is not shared by the multiple users. Therefore, the classifier to each user for fusing the features can be generated for each user in their smartphones. The purpose of this paper is to reveal the influence by generating the individual classifier for each user and a common classifier for all users. We evaluated the authentication accuracy by employing both the classifiers generation methods.

Many glass beads have been found at archaeological sites in Hokkaido. We performed chemical analysis of glass beads discovered in Hokkaido by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDX). Some glass beads were discovered from the Washinoki Site at Mori Town. These glass beads belong to Epi-Jomon culture and these are made from soda-lime glass.

In this paper we study the ring of Pseudo Complex numbers which are generated by a unipotent element and the real numbers, and we investigate an analogy of complex numbers and Pseudo complex numbers in Euler's formula, polar form, Gaussian plane, Cauchy Riemann's equation and DeMoivre's theorem.

Since 2000, we have attempted to improve a method of leading and experimental theme in the fundamentals of electrical and electronic engineering laboratory I accompanying with a reorganization from dept. of electrical eng. to dept. of electrical and electronic Eng.. In the second-year class, instructions of how to write a technical report were also included into contents of the electrical and electronic experiment. In the present report, we investigated such a method of leading, the experimental system and other problems based on previous enquetes. As a result, it was judging that current experimental system: members of groups, volume of contents, were adequate for students. Additionally, the instruction of technical report was meaningful for the students and we could confirm the necessity of continuing the efforts. On the other hand, some problems: 1) student's preparations to experiments are not sufficient 2) students frequently depend on teacher's advices 3) teachers are not enough to explain evaluation system to students 4) whether experimental themes are really proper or not, were revealed. These examinations and improvements should be needed continuously in the future.

The purpose of this research is to develop an automatic positioning device for drilling process using a stereo camera picture. Developed device is constituted by two camera and NC table of two-axis. This device uses a mounting to drilling machine. Three-dimensional coordinate is calculated from two pictures photoed with the tip of a drill and punch mark are automatically positioned. In this paper, we described the development of a measuring device and a method to calculate the three-dimensional coordinate for a drilling position, and the evaluation of the precision on the measuring device by experiment.

Recently, many researchers have developed rescue robots in order to assist rescue team by searching survivors in need of help. These robots actually can climb obstacles in broken houses or buildings such as stairs, wreckage. However, most of them require manual control for achieving the task. And this manual control requires operators from rescue team the mutual control for the robot. Because of the complicated control of robots, these robots are difficult to success in real fields. The goal of this research is to develop an uneven terrain rover without any manual control for climbing obstacles for searching survivors in need of help in broken houses or buildings. The rover which we are developing does not need any manual control for climbing obstacles such as stairs, wreckages and so on. In this paper, first, we propose an easy control uneven terrain rover. Then, possibilities/suitability of shrimp mechanism and triangle wheels for our rover are discussed, and, validity of shrimp mechanism and triangle wheels are shown by experimental results with small models. Finally, prototype of the rover is designed based on the experimental results and control system of the rover is also designed.
