In this thesis, we discussed the significance of nature's classroom in school education from three aspects: "the original experience (as it relates to the five senses) ," "the fundamental scientific view point," and "the basis for becoming independent." We showed, based on these three aspects, that Life Environment Study should be effectively used in the early years of elementary school education. Based on the significance of nature's classroom, we suggested that one way to improve Life Environment Study is for students to observe wild birds and to care for animals that they are familiar with. At the same time, we also emphasized the importance of teacher's role in this activity.
