Numerical simulations have been made on the flow and heat-and-mass transfer in a falling liquid film. The development of a two-dimensional wave was successfully predicted, which consists of a large solitary wave and ripple waves in front of it. Heat and mass transfer is enhanced by the wave, and the enhancement is remarkable in the case of mass transfer with high Sc number. Three-dimensional calculations indicate that a two-dimensional wave becomes unstable with the increase of Re number, resulting in U-shaped three-dimensional waves. The Sh number increases with the transition from 2D to 3D waves.

The control of fluid flow in the micro channel is becoming an important technique in the development of the micro device for the vaio technology. This research focuses on the on-chip controller of a flow in a micro channel, and on the development of a control element. In this presentation, the characteristic of three kinds of sensors that have possibility of an on-chip fabrication are reported. The fabricated micro channel consists of the micro venturi, the mass flow meter, and the hot wire. The characteristic was investigated in the various conditions of the flow velocity and the several conditions of the channels.

二酸化炭素の排出を抑制するには、省エネルギーの促進と非化石燃料エネルギーの導入が最も重要である.省エネルギーは、従来、産業部門および民生部門で積極的に推進が図られてきたが、今後は環境に対する影響をいっそう小さくする観点からさらに強化し、社会全体を省エネルギー型に変えていく必要がある.そのためには、これまでのエネルギー変換尺度を熱量保存則から、エクセルギー評価則に変えることが重要である.ここでは、エクセルギー評価則の理解を深めるため、エクセルギーとエンタルピーの関係を小遣いと給料の関係に当てはめ、熱力学の意味するところを考えてみたい.また都市ガス事業において、実際にエクセルギー評価設計が行われている一例を紹介する.

Water-silicone oil emulsion with a silane coupling agent was used as a phase change material. Using stainless steel vessels coated with PFA resin, experiments of forming ice with stirring were carried out under various conditions of the temperature of brine for cooling and the composition of emulsion. We investigated the correlation between cooling heat flux and ice adhesion to the cooling surface in the ice formation process. The following results were obtained, (a) Silicone oil has the effect of preventing the formed ice from adhering to the cooling surface, (b) Under a condition of the same concentration of the additive, the maximum cooling heat flux without adhesion in the case of water fraction of 80vol.% was larger than that in the case of 100%.
