More than 20 years has passed since J. Feinstein (1993) found that a perfect play on 6×6 board of Othello gives a 16-20 win for the second player. A computer Othello surpasses a much more human now. However, standard 8×8 board remain unsolved. In this paper, we show the p erfect play in miniature Othello (4×4, 4×6, 4×8, 4×10 and 6×6 boards). From these results, we discuss the feature of the Othello larger than or equal to 8×8 board. In addition, in the 6×6 board, we confirm the result of Feinstein.

Researches on contact current and human body resistance by using precise human model at power frequency were carried out. In this study, the absolute values of internal body resistances were calculated for the two current paths. Its showed good agreement with another numerical data. But, they were twice or three times higher than the experimental ones. This implies that the factors such as the difference between in vivo and in vitro conductivities need to be considered. In addition, it was found that the internal resistances are widely influenced by current path which include extremities or not. And then, the current density of extremely high magnitude exceeding 100mA/m2 appears concentrically at heart and spinal cord in the torso as well as at extremities. These results indicate that concentration of internal current is influenced by cross-section area of current path and tissue's conductivity.

Tahitian dance is a traditional dance in Tahiti located in the Polynesian Islands. Bold and glamorous dancing using the body line unique to women attracts the hearts of the viewers. Costumes used for Tahitian dance are important things that influence the atmosphere of dance, and it was basic to handmade. Currently, although it is increasingly being marketed, the number isn't a lot and it is difficult to find a design that you like. In this study, we made a prototype which can design simple pareo design for the user can easily use. In this prototype, we prepare several types of Polynesian-like motifs to design in advance. The user can arbitrarily arrange, move and delete the motif selected here on the costume type, and design the entire pareo. In this paper, we post a pareo and a coconut bra & skirt design as an example of execution.

Archery is a popular sport among people with disabilities because rules of games are played according to relatively general archery competitions. However, the characteristic of archery is due to take aim at a target with one's eyes, it is currently difficult for visually impaired people to implement it. There are two important points for archers. Before shooting the arrow, which direction does the arrow aim at? After shooting the arrow, how many points did the arrow get? Therefore, in this paper, we propose a system that informs archer of the aiming directions and the detecting scores by voice using video sequences obtained from two cameras.

The roots, stems, and leaves of Ashitaba (Angelica keiskei Koidzumi) growing in Miyazaki were extracted and fractionated with solvent. These extracts and fractions were analyzed by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), and were evaluated for antibacterial activities.

In recent years, entertainment computing has received increasing attention in Japan. In this study, we focused on projection mapping. Projection mapping is a technology for creating a new space by synthesizing space and video using a projector. Many people have been fascinated by the work that combines dancer performance and projection mapping. However, in these tasks, it is necessary for the performer to accurately match the motion of the image object in the projection mapping, and it is difficult for many people. Therefore, we propose a participatory projection mapping that changes interactively according to the user's movement in order to entertain not only the people who view the projection mapping but also the performers. In this study, we focused on sports and implemented projection mapping that can perform pitching of baseball and lifting of soccer according to the user's skeleton coordinates using Kinect. Also, if the user hides from Kinect's field of view and then enters Kinect's field of view again, there is a problem that the re-following of the user's skeleton coordinates is not performed well. We approached the problem by using a cascade classifier to detect users. We asked five users to experience the projection mapping proposed in this study, and conducted a questionnaire to obtain evaluation. From the results of the questionnaire, we think that we could get a certain evaluation as to whether the performers could enjoy as well as the people who saw the projection mapping. Future tasks include the implementation of tutorial screens and texture mapping to make the operation easier to understand, so that even small children and people with physical disabilities can experience it.

The diagnosis of ocular malalignment is difficult and need examinations from ophthalmologists and orthoptists which are chronically insufficient. Part of the process of eye position check is systemized. With this check system、not only the symptom but also the angle and the extent of strabismus is detected. However、this method only useful for detecting one kind of strabismus which is divergent strabismus. The purpose of this study is to develop a simplied check system to screen at least the presence of strabismus apart from the type of strabismus or amount of ocular deviation. Digitalization of the check process and the diagnostic process was conducted. Specifically, the digitalization of element technology, "Cover-uncover function," was conducted necessary for the automation of the typical "Cover Test" for eye position check. And we also implemented function to detect movement indicating an ocular malalignment from eyeball videos durign Cover test. That is, we devised the detection method by estimating center position of pupil.

CAPTCHA is a type of challenge response test used to distinguish human users from malicious computer programs such as bots, and is used to protect email, blogs, and other web services from bot attacks. So far, research on enhance of CAPTCHA's resitance to bot attacks has been proceeded to counter advanced automated attacks method. However, an attack technique known as a relay attack has been devised to circumvent CAPTCHA. In this attack, since human solves CAPTCHA, the existing measures assuming bots have no effect on this attack. We designed a new CAPTCHA scheme for relay attacks tolerance and automated attacks tolerance. In this paper, we tested the robustness of the proposed method against several types of automated attacks. We constructed an experimental environment in which a relay attack can be simulated, and designed a series of experiments to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. As a result, we found that the proposed CAPTCHA scheme offers some of level of resistance to automated attacks and relay attacks.
