More than 20 years has passed since J. Feinstein (1993) found that a perfect play on 6×6 board of Othello gives a 16-20 win for the second player. A computer Othello surpasses a much more human now. However, standard 8×8 board remain unsolved. In this paper, we show the p erfect play in miniature Othello (4×4, 4×6, 4×8, 4×10 and 6×6 boards). From these results, we discuss the feature of the Othello larger than or equal to 8×8 board. In addition, in the 6×6 board, we confirm the result of Feinstein.

Abstract ###From the quantitative analysis of steam-condensed solution which was obtained by the ###steam-dried treatment of Sugi wood at 90-120 ℃ (dry-bulb temperature) for 54-93 hours, the ###amounts of phenolics were found to be very small. The total extracts of organic solvent ###extractions (hexane and ethyl acetate) of steam-condensed solution were 0.16 w/v %. The ###adsorbate amount from steam-condensed solution using HP-20 adsorbent were the same as ###that of the solvent extract. The analysis of solvent extract and HP-20 adsorbate by capillary ###gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GC-MS) revealed eight sesquiterpene compounds in ###the steam-condensed solution from Sugi wood.

The diagnosis of ocular malalignment is difficult and need examinations from ophthalmologists and orthoptists which are chronically insufficient. Part of the process of eye position check is systemized. With this check system、not only the symptom but also the angle and the extent of strabismus is detected. However、this method only useful for detecting one kind of strabismus which is divergent strabismus. The purpose of this study is to develop a simplied check system to screen at least the presence of strabismus apart from the type of strabismus or amount of ocular deviation. Digitalization of the check process and the diagnostic process was conducted. Specifically, the digitalization of element technology, "Cover-uncover function," was conducted necessary for the automation of the typical "Cover Test" for eye position check. And we also implemented function to detect movement indicating an ocular malalignment from eyeball videos durign Cover test. That is, we devised the detection method by estimating center position of pupil.

CAPTCHA is a type of challenge response test used to distinguish human users from malicious computer programs such as bots, and is used to protect email, blogs, and other web services from bot attacks. So far, research on enhance of CAPTCHA's resitance to bot attacks has been proceeded to counter advanced automated attacks method. However, an attack technique known as a relay attack has been devised to circumvent CAPTCHA. In this attack, since human solves CAPTCHA, the existing measures assuming bots have no effect on this attack. We designed a new CAPTCHA scheme for relay attacks tolerance and automated attacks tolerance. In this paper, we tested the robustness of the proposed method against several types of automated attacks. We constructed an experimental environment in which a relay attack can be simulated, and designed a series of experiments to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. As a result, we found that the proposed CAPTCHA scheme offers some of level of resistance to automated attacks and relay attacks.

Abstract ###In an internal combustion engine, it is usually considered that combustion and flow are ###affected each other. In our previous works, it seemed to be in good correlation between ###combustion and flow characteristics. But after precise examinations, the correlations were ###not enough. The cause of this disaffection would be the change of actual fuel air ratio ###during the combustion experiments in the engine. So the examination of this###discrepancy was made by the injection duaration of the fuel injection system. The ###discrepancy was decreased by this check of the injection duaration when engine was ###running.The relationships between combustibility and flow characteristics was ###inclined to be come near in some extent, but more improvement should be required.

Face image recognition is an impotant technology for security,communication area,etc.. In this reserch,###we try to show the optimal parameters in multi-layer neural network for mosaic face image recognition.###By using of mosaic face images,the amount of image dara can be reduced,and it can also avoid###the affect of noise.Through our experiments,a multi-layer neural network showed 98.7% of recognition###on 8 x 8 mosaic images.

We have analyzed 1Po resonances for He and Ps- associated with n = 5 thresholds of He+ and Ps by the time-delay ###matrix Q(E). Q-matrix as functions of total energy E is constructed from scattering matrix obtained by scattering ###calculation. The eigenvalues {qi(E)} of Q-matrix are quite useful to identify resonances in the energy region where ###some resonances overlap and where the eigenphase sum δ(E) and its energy-derivative dδ/dE do not provide enough ###information. Some overlappling resonances are appeared by examination of the eigenvalues {qi(E)} for He and many ###new resonances are found for Ps-.

ABSTRACT ###Minimizing the number of cameras is search for optimal all location for taking all scenery inside ###buildings. It is necessary to take the conditions of a camera and walls into consideration. We proposed ###a GA-based method to minimize the number of cameras to take images all scenery inside buildings. ###We used an actual map, and experimented based on GA. It was able to ask for the number of a camera ###considered to be close to the minimum as a result.
