情報システムの機能進化とネットワーク社会への変容の関係について論じる.情報システムが社会環境と相互作用して引き起こされる社会変化をマクロに捉えて分析する.近年の知識情報技術の進歩により,情報システムの機能が自動処理からオートポイエーシスに進化する可能性が高いと考えられる.オートポイエティックな情報システムが機能分化して普及する社会を情報社会と定義する「オートポイエティック情報社会論」を考察枠組みとし,知識情報システムのオートポイエーシス機能への高度化を具体例により検討すると共に,ネットワーク組織等の社会的構造・機能と相互作用して実現するネットワーク社会のメカニズムを考察する.Functional evolutions of information systems are studied in connection with the rise of network societies. A macroscopic point of view is applied to analyze interactions of information systems and social environments which will result in social transformations. Recent progresses in knowledge information technology inspire us to foresee probable functional evolution of automatic information systems into autopoiesis. An autopoietic framework for information society analysis is adopted, which defines information society as a society where autopoietic information systems are widely utilized. Examples of knowledge information systems to realize autopoiesis are discussed, and mechanisms of the rise of network societies are analyzed.
