ユーザがコンピュータシステムを道具として使いこなすためには,システムの構造や機能を"理解する"必要がある.しかし,全くの初心者ユーザにとってコンピュータシステムを理解することは非常に困難である.そのため,ユーザがシステムを楽しく容易に"理解"できるように支援するユーザインタフェースとして,メタファーを提供するユーザインタフェースが研究されているが,そのような認知科学的手法がどれだけ有効であるかを評価する手法の確立も非常に重要である.本稿では,我々が作成したメタファーを提供する分散システムのためのUI,メタファーネットワークDoReMiを用いた、メタファー提供の有効性を評価する認知心理学実験について述べる.We propose 'Metaphor-oriented User Interface', which make it possible that unpracticed users understand the systems they work on now. It is almost impossible for ordinary users to make good use of their systems, even if they employ (conventional) Graphical User Interface (GUI). Our 'Metaphor-oriented User Interface : Metaphor-Network DoReMi' present such systems to users through metaphor, which is more familiar to us, for making it easy for non-expert to understand structures, functions and operations of their systems. In this paper, we describe results of cognitive-psychology experiment which use Metaphor Network DoReMi., and evaluate efficiency of 'DoReMi' itself with cognitive-scientific methods.
