日本語のことば遊びを積極的に活用した俳諧作品があった。その多くは江戸時代初期に貞門と称される人々の間で創作されたが、その一人であった野々口立圃には回文の発句を記した短冊が残されている。本稿はその短冊資料を紹介し、初期俳諧の歴史の中に位置付けることを目的とする。Some haikai (俳諧) made use of Japanese plays on words. Most of them were composed by the Teimon (貞門) group of haikai in the early period of the Edo era. Nonoguchi Ryuho (野々口立圃) was one of the members of the Teimon group. The oblong card in which he wrote the first phrase of the haikai using the palindrome remains now. The oblong card is introduced in this report. It is positioned in the history of the earlier haikai.
