琉球方言にひろくみられる助辞=duをふくむ文は、=duに呼応して連体形と同音形式の述語が文末にあらわれることから、おおくの研究者が=duを古代日本語のゾとおなじ係助辞とよび、琉球方言に係り結びがあると主張してきた。琉球方言には=duとおなじ文法的な特徴をもつ=ga、=nu、=kuse:がある。内間(1985)は那覇方言の=gaを、仲宗根(1983)は今帰仁方言の=kuse:と=gaを、平澤(1985)は宮古方言の=nu、=gaを係助辞とみなした。本稿は那覇方言、今帰仁方言、宮古方言、八重山方言の=du、=ga、=kuse:、=nuをふくむ文の通達的なタイプと文末述語を検討し、当該助辞が特定の活用形と必ずしも呼応していないこと、当該助辞の機能が焦点化であることをのべる。

In order to hand down the endangered Ryukyuan language to posterity, we have made an audio database of all headwords and examples of the Ryukyuan language based on a number of dictionaries of Ryukyuan dialects, such as Dictionary of Nakijin Dialect and Dictionary of an Amami Dialect, on Semantic Principles. The database is available on the homepage of the library of the University of the Ryukyus. This paper will introduce the Audio Database of the Ryukyuan Language and also discuss the significance of the preparation of the database and problems to be solved in the future.

琉球列島全域の言語地理学的な調査の資料を使って、構造的比較言語地理学を基礎にしながら、音韻論、文法論、語彙論等の基礎研究と比較言語学、言語類型論、言語接触論等の応用研究を融合させて、言語系統樹の研究を行なえば、琉球列島に人々が渡来、定着した過程を総合的に解明できる。言語史研究の方法として方言系統地理学を確立することを提案する。This paper advocates the establishment of a field of "dialectal phylogenetic geography" as a method of historical linguistics. Linguistic phylogenetic research of Ryukyuan languages and dialects will clarify the historical processes of people's migration and settlement on the Ryukyu Islands more comprehensively. By fusing basic research such as phonology, grammar, and lexicology, with applied research, such as comparative linguistics, linguistic typology, and language contact, utilizing research materials from linguistic geography that is based on structural linguistic geography in the historical and comparative field, can we better understand these processes.
