Effective utilization of information has become more important in information systems of inter/intranet era, such as real time decision support systems or mass-customization systems. In this paper, a concept of information potential is proposed for considering the effectiveness of information utilization. This concept is analogous to the potential field theory, where the information potential shows the degree of necessity of information in the decision and the information power shows the effect of information in the decision. Based on the proposed concept, a design method of decision support systems is proposed, where the intelligent agent technology is used for evaluating information potential. This method is applied to a real time decision support system, especially a securities dealing decision support system to confirm its effectiveness.

金融機関の営業店では,現金自動取引装置(ATM)を利用した現金取引業務の自動化が行われている。ATMで取り扱うことのできない窓口業務の自動化を推進するために、マルチメディアを利用した顧客操作端末システムを試作開発し、資金運用相談、金融商品案内、諸届などのアプリケーションを実装した。これらのアプリケーションは、相談や商品案内など、情報提供を中心とする業務のため、AMTが扱う現金業務と比較して、処理内容や手順をしばしば変更する必要がある。このため、銀行などのサービス提供者がプログラムを容易に作成できる仕掛けが必要になる。これに対し、サービス提供が顧客操作端末用業務処理プログラムを容易に作成できる環境のひとつとして、画面レイアウトの編集ツールを開発した。本稿では、本ツールの概要と実現方法について述べる。

Servitization of manufacturing industry has become important problem. However, there are very few studies which show specific methods in the manufacturing industry. In this paper, we propose a knowledge whitespace model concept as a value co-creation framework with customers based on Service Dominant Logic in the manufacturing industry. Separate the functions of the target service / product into two hierarchies, the application layer and the platform layer, and remove the functions other than the most important function. Therefore, this model intentionally creates knowledge whitespace and promotes value co-creation with customer. We analyzed concrete examples of development of multiple services and products and examined the effectiveness of the model focusing on relationships, information exchanged, co-created value.

The importance of SIS (Strategic Information System), which supports strategic business operation, has been increasing with the progress of information and communication technology. In SIS, the close connectivity between information and business is a critical success factor. In this paper the authors propose a methodology of planning SIS. First, introducing the business information system diagram, the role of information for business is clarified. Next, such concept is introduced that the information power as effectiveness for business is determined by the connectivity between information quality and information field representing the necessity of information. On the basis of this concept, a methodology of planning SIS, which consists of 3 factors, that is, steps, tools and frameworks, is proposed. The characteristic of the proposed methodology is to find a solution to the complex problem of planning SIS systematically by employing fixed steps, fixed tools and fixed frameworks.

This paper proposes a new framework for B to B collaboration process based on a concept of service. Service value, which gives users satisfaction for provided services, depends on the situation, user characteristics, and user objectives in seeking the service. Vargo proposed Service Dominant Logic (SDL), which determines service value according to "value in use". This concept illustrates the importance of the relationship between the service itself and its situation. This relationship is analogous to electro-magnetic field theory in physics. We developed the concept of service fields to create service value based on an analogy of the electro-magnetic field. By applying this concept to B to B collaboration, a model of service value co-creation in the collaboration can be formulated. Then, the collaboration can be described by 4 steps of KIKI model (Knowledge sharing related to service system, Identification of service field, Knowledge creation for new service idea, Implementation of service idea). As its application to B to B collaboration, the energy saving service business is reported to demonstrate the validity of the proposed collaboration model. This concept can be applied to make a collaboration process effective.
