The scallop culture fishing is a major fishing in Uchiura-Bay, Hokkaido, Japan, and many small fishing boats are engaging in the fishing. As small fishing boats during fishing operation conditions generally incline from 6 to 10 degrees due to mooring to the culture facilities, it is vital for preventing the capsize to make clear roll motion during fishing operation conditions, especially for the difference of encountered angle of waves. Considering easiness of working on the fishing operation, most fishermen moor the ship to be encountered tides from her left side. We carried out tank tests and measurements by using a full-scale ship to verify the effect for the roll response during these mooring methods. Based on the roll response function and the characteristics of power spectrum generated in Uchiura-Bay, we estimated roll motion experienced in real sea and discussed the safety directions of encountered waves during the fishing operations.

The collision of the fishing boat is occurred at high ratio. The fishing boat can not be seen from ship operator on the sea because it is small. Furthermore, it disturbs quick finding in search of fishing boat. From a point of view the authors investigated the color of the fishing boat and carried out questionnaire investigation regarding easiness of finding. As a result, it became clear that the longest distance between two colors of fishing boat and sea surface on the hue-lightness axis decided easiness of finding.

小型漁船は、船長に比べ船幅が広く、平坦な船底勾配、ハードチャインや張り出し甲板等形状的特徴を有し、波浪中の横揺れ運動において非線形性が強い応答をすることが良く知られている。最近、非線形性の強い船体の横揺れ運動の解析にニューラルネットワークモデルを用いた報告がいくつかなされその有効性が指摘されているが、本報告では上記モデルを船体の横揺れ運動の中でも特に非線形性の強いとされる小型漁船の運動の解析へ適用し、その長期予測の有効性について検討する。具体的には、従来から利用されてきた自己回帰モデル(autoregressive (AR) model)を用いた代表的な線形予測法との間で予測精度を評価し、これらの比較を通して、非線形性の強い運動の解析に対するニューラルネットワークモデル利用の有効性を検討する。

Ship motions on the small fishing boats for scallop cultivation in Funka-Bay, Hokkaido, are usually influenced by the dynamic force of large scale cultivation facilities. On the rough sea condition, it would generate fatal ship motions like large amplitude rolling motion. To reduce such ship motions under fishing conditions, we designed a new type of mooring device with buffer materials used as absorber for ship motions. We carried out the tank experiment used the model in the wave conditions corresponded to the actual fishing operation to confirm the effect of reducing ship motion. For the waves in the long-period frequently generated under rough sea, the damping effect of the absorber was effective to reduce rolling motion, and accounting for nothing less than 10.0% compared with the normal mooring device without the absorber. As a result, the mooring device with absorber is effective for the improvement of seakeeping qualities of the fishing boats for scallop cultivation.
