【目的】 近年の消費者トラブルの急増と悪質化に鑑み、一般の消費者よりも不利な立場にある高齢者の実態を把握するために実態調査を行った。本報では、高齢者が消費者トラブルに関する情報と一般的な情報を得る経路についての実態把握を行い、今後の高齢者に対する消費者教育のあり方について検討することを目的とした。【方法】 2005年1月に、全国の65歳以上の一般男女1350人に対して、訪問面接法によってアンケート調査を行った。有効回収率は77.6%であった。本調査は、平成16年度内閣府請負事業として実施されたものである。【結果】 _丸1_一般的な情報の入手経路として多かったのは、テレビ(男性95.4%、女性95.8%)、新聞(男性89.2%、女性81.8%)、友人・知人(男性41.0%、女性46.5%)であった。_丸2_消費者被害情報の入手経路として多かったのは、テレビ・ラジオ(男性91.0%、女性92.9%)、新聞(男性81.3%、女性65.9%)、家族・友人との会話(男性26.7%、女性38.8%)、自治体や自治会の広報(男性24.9%、女性21.4%)であった。_丸3_前述までの通り、高齢者の多くは積極的な入手経路によって情報を得るよりも、メディアや身近な人からの情報入手が多いことが分かった。とりわけ身近な人からの情報によって、消費者トラブルが自分の身近な問題であることを再認識するきっかけとなることが分かっている。今後、高齢者にとってより有効な情報伝達手段を使っての情報提供が期待される。

A geo-referenced global dam reservoir database is constructed by assembling several published dam inventories and latitude/longitude coordinates that are digital obtained or decided from printed maps. This database is designed for hydrological applications on river basin scale to the global scale, and 15, 317 dams with 29 dam reservoir attributes are registered in it. A shoreline polygon data of the reservoir/lake is also provided for 4, 204 dams. The total storage capacity of the registered dams is 5, 594km<SUP>3</SUP>, which is equivalent to the 70% of total storage capacity of all reservoirs and lakes over the world (7, 000 km<SUP>3</SUP>). Since geo-referenced reservoir database which covers whole global area is rarely available, the database will greatly contribute for global scale water resources analysis and impact assessment of reservoirs on the freshwater systems.
