The purpose of this study is to investigate the features of maxillofacial bone fractures due to sports accidents, because few detailed cases in the literature could be found.Sixty patients hospitalized for treatment in the department of oral surgery, Nagoya University Hospital in the period 1967-1988, were analysed.The incidence of this group among all facial bone fractures was 14.7 %, and sex ratio ofonset was 14: 1 with male predominance. By age distribution, the highest occurence was in the 20-29 age group. The incidences of soft tissue traumas complicated with fractures and multiple fractures by sports accidents were less than by other causes.In conclusion it appears that sports-related maxillofacial fractures are less serious than the injuries due to other causes.For prevention of sports injuries it is necessary to investigate the individual factors of every fractures and the concept of “Sports Dentistry” must be established.

名古屋大学医学部附属病院歯科口腔外科では, 総計44例のHIV感染者歯科診療を行っており, その内3例の診療概要を報告し, 本症歯科診療の問題点を検討した。症例1症例はCD4 95/μl, CD4/CD8比0.28と血液学的データは悪く, 臨床的にはAIDS関連症候群 (ARC) であった。特に前駆症状を示すことなく, 右口狭咽頭炎と口腔底峰窩織炎を発症した。イミペネム1000mg/日とガンシクロビル10mg/日連日点滴投与によって7日後消炎した。右下顎智歯周囲炎に継発する日和見感染と思われた。HIV感染者においては口腔衛生状態の保持に特段の配慮が必要である。症例2症例は, 重症型血友病A, CD4: 343/μl, CD4/CD8比: 0.26で無症候性キャリアー (AC) であった。3本の智歯同時抜去を施行したが, 一過性に抗第VIII因子抗体が出現し, 止血に難渋した。症例は長期間出血が持続し, 病棟汚染が危惧されたため, 感染防御に特別の対策を考慮する必要に迫られ, 個室収容を余儀なくされた。症例3症例は, 口腔内に多くの歯科的問題を抱えしばしば感染を生じても, 定期通院ができない感染者であった。通院を阻む最大の理由は, 居住地が遠隔地であることであった。失職の恐れや差別に対する恐怖から, HIV感染の事実を職場に告げることはできず, 歯で入院したり, 遠くの病院へ通うのはおかしいと叱責されることも少なからずあるとのことであった。社会支援の一環として, 歯科医療供給体制の整備は急務である。

In regard to the correction of ankylosis of the TMJ, this paper describes a new technique by arthroplasty and the insertion of silicone coated cast vitallium glenoid fossa.<BR>The purpose of this method is to obtain good fixation, good shock absorbing properties, and to prevent adhesion again, malocculusion and dead space. Offering extreamely good results and satisfaction expressed by the patient.
