In the past 8 yesrs, the authors have treated 4 cases of traumatic dislocation of peroneal tendons in Nagasaki Mitsubishi Hospital. All of these were old cases, and they were treated by operative therapy with Du Vries' method. Even through a long period of follow-up, there was no evidence of mobile bone fragment absorption. Neither was there a complaint about limited range of ankle motion, nor were the incidents of pain and redislocation observed. With all the cases, therefore, the results were highly satisfactory. Du Vries' method, limiting the dislocation of the peroneal tendon from outside the joint and yet capable of completely preventing the dislocation of tendon, can be said to be an excellent technique.

A 37 years old female ruptured the plantar fascia of the foot without associated injury to the achilles tendon while she was under a low posture with the knee flexed, ankle plantar flexed and MP joint dorsiflexed during badminton play.It can be considered that the rupture was brought out by the Windlass Action of the plantar fascia due to extreme dorsiflexion of the MP joint. A surgical primary suture was performed with an excellent result.

The results of marginal excision and irradiation (3, 000-5, 000cGy) in 9 patients with liposarcoma of soft tissue were analyzed to determine the effectiveness of radiation therapy. Only one out of 9 patients, who received 3000cGy, developed a local recurrence at 3 years and 3 months after surgery. The 5-year actuarial local control rate was 84.7%, which was similar to that by radical and/or curative wide resection in soft tissue sarcomas. In addition, histological examination disclosed that a liposarcoma with preoperative radiation fell into almost necrosis.It suggests that the combination of conservative surgery and radiation therapy in the treatment of liposarcomas is of use to maintain a functional limb.

We have observed the pattern of muscle action during rotational movement of the humerus by recording angular deviation and electromyograph simultaneously.<br>Results were summarrized as follow:<br>1) From the beginning of external rotation of the humerus, electrical activity was recorded from the infraspinatus and the teres minor.<br>During later half of this movement, electrical activity was found from the deltoideus (posterior fiber), the latissimus dorsi, the supraspinatus and the rhomboideus.<br>2) In internal rotation of the humerus, electrical activity was recorded from the subscapularis. The pectralis major was active in half of the cases, but the deltoideus (anterior fiber) and the latissimus dorsi were inactive during this movement.

We studied on the relation between primitive reflexes and motor development by means of taking movie.Primitive reflexes (Moro reflex, Asymmetrical tonic neck reflex, Crossed extension reflex. Babinshi reflex ete) activate all kinds of automatic movement integrated by higher brainstem, and furthermore these reflexes activate development of righting reaction, parachute reaction, balance reaction and voluntarity.Namely, primitive reflexes activate mainly automatic movement but these reflexes exert too promotive influence on the development in the early stage learning anti-gravitic posture and normal sensori-motor pattern in each motordevelopmental stage.

認知症者は,短期記憶障害のために予定を覚えておくことができず,同じ質問を頻回に繰り返す場合がある.本研究では,グループホームでの参与観察により,スケジュールに関わる記憶の問題を分析し,支援機器開発の課題(ニーズ,理解・注意の制約)を抽出した.機器のプロトタイプを作成し,発話・行動分析から,記憶を補うスケジュール呈示手法を探索した結果,提案手法により,頻回な質問が減少し,行動決定が可能になった.
