本稿では、2000年度予備教育日本語コースにおける、教科書とは別の会話の練習を目指した試みについて報告する。まず、過去4年間の同じような試みについて簡単にふれる。次に、2000年度の試みについて、事例をあげて詳しく述べる。さらに、この試みに対する学生による評価の資料から、問題点を指摘する。また、ボランティアの参加の位置付けについて考察し、最後に今後の展望を示す。

3 年前に行った「日本人の会話とその教育に関する留学生の意識調査」の結果をふまえ、今回は中国・韓国・台湾の学生を対象に標題の内容のアンケート調査を行った。この調査では日本人の話し方に対するポジティブな印象とネガティブな印象の内容を明らかにし、それらに影響する要因を分析した。調査した要因は、学生の文化的背景、日本における滞在年数、日本や日本人に対するイメージ、日本人との交流の程度、異文化への対応の仕方の差異などである。ポジティブな印象及びネガティブな印象とそれらに影響する要因との関連は文化的要因と時間的要因では明確であるが、その他の要因については国ごとに異なっていることがわかった。 Based upon the results of the survey from three years ago“ A Survey on the Feelings And Thoughts of Foreign Students about Japanese-style Conversation and its Teaching : focusing on the data of students from China, South Korea and Taiwan”, we made another survey as seen above. We surveyed the contents of positive and negative impressions which the foreign students have toward the Japanese way of speaking, and analyzed what kind of factors these impressions are influenced by. The points of analysis were the students, cultural background, the length of their stay in Japan, their image of Japan and Japanese people, the level of their interchangewith Japanese people, and how they have adopted to a foreign culture, etc. The relationshipbetween the factors and the positive/ negative impressions was clear in the sense of culturalfactors and time factors, however other factors differed depending upon the country.

留学生は何を期待し,どんな予想をして留学してきているのだろうか。彼等の留学目的,日本語学習目的とその取り組み方を知ることができれば,適切な対応ができ,よりよい学習環境が提供できるであろう。留学生の実像を知るため6 ヶ月の日本語集中コース開始時と終了時の二回アンケート調査を行うことにした。本稿では,そのうちコース開始時における学習者の留学目的,日本語学習の目的と動機及び日本語学習観などについての調査を行い,その結果を考察した。In order to seek ways to provide more adequate treatment and better learning enviroment for foreign students, this paper explores what students had expected and foreseen before coming to Japan, what purpose and prospests they have, how strongly they are motivated in studying Japanese, and what attitude they have towards language learning.
