Experimental comparison of heavy grinding performance is made on the different twogrinding wheels (19A36M8V, 19A60M8V) which have rough and fine grain size respectively.Rough grain sized wheel (19A36M8) have the following character1) Larger cross feeds are obtainable,2) Larger wear rate have been observed,Then, rough grain sized wheel is lower grade of wheel for heavy grinding, while,capacity of grinding machine shoud be about 10 times of that of present machine for obtaining200μm cross feeds.

We researched 62 gates with the roof truss in the old Satsuma-Han area: Izumi Fumoto, Chiran Fumoto, Iriki Fumoto, Shibushi Fumoto, Takaoka Fumoto, Kanou Fumoto, and Okuchi Fumoto for four years. The roof truss supported the eaves and was not used as an important gate in the historical architecture. But the columns were set in such a way to support the roof truss. Therefore, the roof truss was longer and were made the roof higher. Gates with the roof truss were important in old Satsuma-Han and were built in over six Fumotos, except Izumi-Fumoto. Gates with the roof truss were found in Izumi-Fumoto but without the columns necessary to support the roof. In other Fumoto such gates were also built but were much smaller than those in Chiran Fumoto. Gates with the roof truss were developed with originality and creatively in each Fumoto for 200 years.

Since the thermal Power Plants in the Kyushu Districts are obliged to use low quality coal for fuel, they have no alternative but to utilize combustion of pulverized coal. The Unit System Tube Mill is a low costing Pulveruzer, but this system has its difficulties with automatic coal feeding. The reason being that as the feed control is carried out by interlinking the draft of the exhauster which blows the pulverized coal into the furnace with the feed rate of the coal feeder, after operation over a long period,excessive quantities of coal accumulates within the mill causing Mill-over or shortage of pulverized coal comes about decreasing the load of the Power Plant. With such difficulties constantly happening, perfect automatic combustion cannot be obtained. These defects can be corrected by disconnecting the interlink between the coal feeder and the exhauster, and controlling the feed rate of the coal feeder so that a fixed quantity of coal is constantly retained within the Tube Mill. Since a detector is necessary to determine the quantity of coal retained in the Tube Mill, the Author has invented and developed an Electro-acoustic Mill Level Meter which is quick responding and enables the operator to accurately detect the quantity of coal retained within the Mill. Recently the Unit System Tube Mill coal feeding system of the No. 2 Minato Power Plant of the Kyushu Power Company was completely switched to automatic operation by the use of this invention. Following this, the same automatic coal feeding system was installed at the Ainoura Power Plant which brought about excellent operating results. This thesis reports on the outline of this Invention.

An patient habitation space is what thing furthermore about how the Hansen's disease medical-treatment institution changed in Okinawa Prefecture, as for the purpose of research, and it is showing clearly how it changed. And it aims at grasping the feature by comparison with the Hansen's disease sanatorium (National Sanatoria Hoshizuka Keiaien) of a mainland.

It is known that the head of a centrifugal pump slightly increases when the roughnessincreases on the outer surface of the impeller of a centrifugal pump.The authors report the results about a volute pump that by measuring the velocitydistribution in the axial direction in the inlet of the casing. (namely, immediately afterthe water ran out the impeller.)We examined the relation between the velocity distribution and the head rise.

The author performed his experiments, in order to know the special characteristics of centrifugal pumps, with an 1 stage volute pump of 3" diameter, changing the shapes of cross section of suction nozzles and varying the roughness of outer surface of impeller, and he examined the influence of those variables on the efliciency of pumps. The results obtained are as follows:Shapes of cross section of suction nozzles:Those which conformed to the shapes of impeller suction inlets reveald best in efficiency. The outer surface of impeller:As the roughness increased, the pump efficiency was decreased since the increase of disk friction loss was accompanied by the influence of the flow within the space between the impeller and its casing, while the total head was seen somewhat increased.

In a previous paper, we reported the characteristics of transient heat conduction of slabs with natural convective voids. In the present paper, we analyzed the characteristics of the slabs withforced convective voids. This analysis simulates the practical case that they are used as air conditioning duct spaces.The simulations were carried out for two cases : i. e., the all day air-conditioningmode and the intermittent air-conditioning mode, in which the voids are used as the ducts for 10 hours continuously a day. In addition, the heating and cooling modes were considered for both air-conditioning modes.To study the effects of the heat transfer at the surface of the void on the overall heat conduction, we changed void air velocity into five values and the void surface emissivity into two values.The calculations of the heat flux, mean surface temperature and void air temperature in the different cases were compared.
