The purpose of this study was to construct a sexual self-determination scale and examine the effect of sex experienceon sexual self-determination. A questionnaire which included items on sexual experience and dating violence, andsexual self-determination scale was administered to 117 university students as a part of the requirement of a socialpsychology course. Sexual self-determination was found to be constructed from four factors: sexual diversity, sexualself-receptiveness, sexual liberty, and sexual health/rights. However, both the reliability based on alpha coefficients andthe criterion-related validity were not sufficient. It was found that women without sexual experience are able torecognize sexual diversity. In addition, men were found to be more sexually liberated than women, and those who hadhad sexual experience were more sexually liberated than their counterparts.

The purpose of this study was to research parents' understanding of the concepts of "gender" and "gender free", the attitudes towards gender-related traits and the treatment of girls and boys without distinction of sex . Three hundred ninety-three mothers' data were analyzed (responses from fathers were very few). The results were as follows: 1) The number of mothers who knew the words "gender" or "gender free" was not very high, but they understood the connotation of social constructedness. 2) Their knowledge of the words affected how they thought about the origins of gender differences. 3) Many mothers' thought traditional activities like girls' and boys' festivals were important as cultural perpetuators, but interchangeable with regards to sex.. 4) Few mothers opposed the use of co-ed changing rooms or toilets for children. Therefore, it is believed that the concepts of "gender" or "gender free" are understandable to the general public and need to be popularized.

This paper reports on effects of a peer support training by undergraduate students for 4th grade students (N=29) in a primaryschool, focusing on changes of adaptation to friends, teachers and classroom atmosphere. These were measured by aquestionnaire that was self-rated by students. Results showed that the peer support training seemed to make students moreaware of problems and immaturity of their peer relations and students' feelings of adaptation to friends and classroomatmosphere decreased. Needed further practices to support students to develop their peer relations and adaptation werediscussed.

In this study, relationship between assertiveness and interpersonal stress of university students wasinveseigated, in order to explore the way to reduce their stress. Pareiciants were 56 university men and 53women. Interpersonal stress was measured by a questionnaire, and assertiveness was measured by bothquestionnaire and the projective test(P-F study). As a result of correlation analysis, negative correlation weresignificant (1) between "persuasive and negotiation" factor and "personal dislocation" factor ,and (2)"persuasive and negotiation" factor and "personal conflict" factor with men. It was suggested that skills ofpersuading and negotiating were effective to reduce stress of "personal conflict" and "personal wear-out". Next,the relationship between the personal stress and assertiveness measured by the P-F study was examined. Theresult that woman who strongly showed "ego defense" reaction felt much more personal stress than mansuggested that there would be a gender difference in interpersonal relationship strategy.
