In terms of diagnosis category, Asperger-Syndrome has been revised in DSM-5 and moved into one unital diagnosis category as an autistic spectrum disorder(ASD), but this category continues to be used in the clinical situation. To understand this disorder, the DSM and ICD classification systems are neither enough for diagnosis nor educational treatment. Here, apart from the diagnosis viewpoint, another theme exists, Specifically, the kind of educational perspective and methodology used was very important when H. Asperger observed his children, He called himself “Kinderarzt und Heilp?dagoge (pediatrician and remedial-educator)”. Therefore, we think that the background to H. Asperger's thesis about “autistische psychopathen” (autistic psychopathy) must be considered. And, at such a time, the following points should be discussed. (1) Relationship with“Austrian Heilp?dagogik”, (2) His methodological viewpoints, especially, the concept of “Ganzheitlichkeit”(integrated), and (3) His attitude to“NS eugenics”.
