Coelophora inaequalis (Fabricius, 1775) is recorded from several localities on the islands of Okinawa-jima and Ishigaki-jima, Okinawa, Japan for the first time. This species is considered to be currently introduced from overseas and possibly already naturalized in these islands. Several color forms are known in this species, but only two forms, Tortoise-shell and Nine-spotted forms, have been found the populations in Okinawa.
