In recent years, there have been growing expectations for regional revitalization and development through reward-based crowdfunding and hometown tax donation (Furusato Nouzei; quasi crowdfunding by local municipalities), but as these markets expand, competition among projects nationwide is intensifying. Local companies and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) alone are finding it difficult to compete in this market, as they may not be able to appeal to the public if they try to complete their projects with local resources alone. Also, as traditional e-commerce players have recently entered the market, attracted by the expansion of these markets, those local players are required to have higher quality in their products. In the early days, reward-based crowdfunding and Furusato Nouzei were expected to secure sales channels for local companies and small and medium-sized enterprises, but as the market has expanded, the competitive landscape of the market may have changed. We need to re-assess the degree of contribution of reward-based crowdfunding and Furusato Nouzei to regional revitalization.

We conducted a demonstration experiment of digital local currency in a local shopping district. The results revealed the following three main points among the users of the digital local currency. (1) Increased attachment to the shopping district, (2) Discount not necessarily needed on the use of digital local currency among frequent users, and (3) Encouragement to use at stores they have never used before. With various digital payment methods developed by the private sector already available, a digital local currency should be designed in a way that it can coexist with these methods. In this regard, the policy implications for other regions considering the introduction of digital local currencies are the effectiveness of tying digital local currencies to existing business areas and communities to which the public is already attached, and the effectiveness of generating real communication between shoppers and store owners. There is also the possibility of revitalizing local areas by increasing the degree of attachment of shoppers to the shopping district through digital local currency.

わが国におけるエクイティファイナンスの現状を実正分析を通じて行った。第三者割当増資、公募増資に関してそれぞれ案件の発表時の株式市場の反応を分析し、市場から評価される案件の系類を明らかにした。また、第三者割当増資、公募増資実施後の中長期の収益分析、株価パフォーマンス分析をあわせて実施し、事後的にも評価されるエクイティファイナンスのタイプを明らかにした。分析結果を要約すると、資金使途が借入金の返済ではない案件、特に第三者割当増資の場合は増資の引き受けをする株主と発行体の関係性、シナジーの有無が重要であることが分かった。
