We are working on documenting disaster stone monuments with Hikari Takuhon.In japan, there are many disaster monuments related to earthquakes and tsunamis in the Tohoku, Mie Prefecture and Shikoku regions. This time, we went to the Kyushu region to record them. In Nobeoka City, Miyazaki Prefecture, we documented stone monuments related to the Ansei Nankai Earthquake and flood damage in the late Edo period using Hikari Takuhon. In addition, an exhibition was held using the electronic information of these stone monuments.

The damage by typhoon "NABI" in 2005 was greater in Miyazaki Prefecture than elsewhere. Cultural properties in museums and various other places suffered. We rescued heavily damaged photographs from two homes in Nobeoka City. While such photographs document individual life stories, they are also a resource that enables us to reconstruct local history. Such reconstruction of the past may help strengthen both individual identities as well as the regional cultural identities. Our conservation of the photographs involved various processes including using a freeze-drying machine. In carrying out these conservation efforts, we designed a workflow procedure for cultural resource disaster relief.

筆者らは相間移動溶解剤(Phase Transfer Surfactant,PTS)を用いたショットガンプロテオミクス用の前処理方法を報告してきた.本方法の特徴は,酸性条件化でPTSの疎水性度が上昇することを利用して酢酸エチルを用いた液液分配でPTSを試料溶液から除去できる点である.PTSとして陰イオン性界面活性剤であるデオキシコール酸ナトリウムおよびラウロイルサルコシン酸ナトリウムを用いており,これら溶解剤は脂溶性の高い膜タンパク質でも細胞質基質タンパク質と同等に定量的に可溶化できるほど溶解能が高い.興味深いことに,これら溶解剤は消化酵素の活性を促進する効果を併せ持っている.PTS法はFilter–aided sample preparationや酸分解性界面活性剤であるRapiGestを用いた方法よりも多くのタンパク質を同定できることが示された.PTS法はこれまで多様な試料に適用されており,膜プロテオミクスだけでなく通常のショットガンプロテオミクスにも効果的な前処理方法である.

Yoshida Hatsusaburo was a designer of bird's-eye view pictures and he produced whole country. There are picture which he drew in Miyazaki prefecture. From these documents, as well as the figure of cities throughout Japan by the point of view of Mr. Hatsusaburo, it suggests the idea of regional cities in this period for "town planning"
