This study aimed to develop a new method of increasing water content in the cutaneous stratum corneum under a dry skin condition. For this purpose, the experiments were performed using 10 healthy women (age: 20 ± 5 years, height: 158 ± 4 cm, weight: 50 ± 6 kg) in winter to ensure the dry condition. The subjects immersed the right hand into a 42˚C bath for 10 min. Skin surface temperature and water content in the stratum corneum of the left forearm were simultaneously measured during and for 1 h after the hand warming. The skin surface temperature began to increase (P<0.05) 15 min after the hand warming and thereafter remained increased for 1 h. Similarly, the water content in the stratum corneum began to increase immediately after the hand warming and remained increased throughout the experiment. The present results suggest that warming of one hand is effective in enhancing skin moisture in the other forearm and thereby maintaining barrier function of the skin.

皮膚の保湿性の指標となる角層水分量および経皮水分蒸散量を,皮膚表面温度とともに,冬季(室温 21℃)と夏季(室温 25℃),および冬季の室温 21℃と 25℃という室内温度環境下で測定した.この 3 項目に影響を及ぼす短期的(室温変化)および長期的(季節)要因について検討した.角層水分量および皮膚表面温度は,夏季と比べ,冬季に有意に(P<0.01)減少し,経皮水分蒸散量も低下する傾向にあった.冬季の室温を夏季と同一の室温(25℃)に設定した場合,皮膚表面温度と経皮水分蒸散量は有意に上昇したが,角層水分量は低値のままであった.以上より,実験環境における室温という短期的要因よりも,季節という長期にわたる環境要因が角層水分量に大きく影響する可能性が考えられた.

Several approaches to extract keywords from a document submitted by students were done. Two types of documents were used. Summaries of research papers were analyzed as the fixed structure type. Another type was the non-fixed structure type. Non-significant words that had little meaning were discarded after morphological analysis. Remained words were used as extracted terms. Frequencies of terms in the document, associations of terms in the sentence, and weight-degrees of terms in the documents were examined. Chart-ization was tried using these values. Documents of the non-fixed structure type were chart-ized with weight-degrees of terms. All but a few of significant terms were extracted from documents of the fixed structure type, and we could not chart-ize these documents.
