Educational Big Data (EBD) and Learning Analytics (LA) have being attracted enormous attention in recent years. Data collection process is the first step of EBD and LA. Based on the data source, data collection can be classified into two categories: manual data collection, and automatic data collection. This paper describes two educational systems: SCROLL (System for Capturing, Reusing, Reminding Of Learning Logs) as manual data collection and, M2B (Moodle, Mahara, Booklooper) as automatic data collection.

An important issue in education systems is the ability to determine the characteristics of a learner and then to provide suitable guidance in response. In this paper a system was built to classify a learner's errors into categories (Kroll 1990, Weltig 2004) with the purpose of identifying the error characteristics of a learner studying English composition. More specifically, machine learning was undertaken on the writings of learners on the Lang-8 foreign language learning community site.

Since evaluation of food is subjective and the feeling is expressed in Japanese, onomatopoeia is used in many cases. In cooking and sweets, the onomatopoeia used is different. In order to grasp the meaning of onomatopoeia, we need to read and compare the situation where each onomatopoeia is used. In this report, the "Double Rank" method which the first author proposed is applied to Blog documents to compare and to analyze Blogs.set of all words gains the best performance if 90% of the data are used as a training data. However, the set of a small number of words with positive scores outperforms other feature sets, if the training data is only 10%. In such a realistic situation, the feature words are effective in improving discernment.

食べ物の評価は主観的であり、日本語ではその感覚を表すたえmにオノマトペ が使われることが多い。料理とスイーツでは使われるオノマトペが違う。オノ マトペの意味を捉えるには、個々のオノマトペがどのような状況で使われるか を見なければならない。本発表では、著者の提案するDouble Rank法をBlog文 書に適用し、料理とスイーツにおけるオノマトペの違いの分析システムを紹介 する。
