The purpose of this study was to address the issue of the fear of COVID-19 among nurses and to determine the extent to which three factors affected their fear of COVID-19: (a) personal factors, (b) working conditions, and (c) coping behaviors. We conducted a web-based survey of 152 nurses working in the Tohoku region. A hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that living with elderly people, working in the small hospital, and working long hours at night affected their fear of COVID-19. The results also revealed that “escape from anxiety” as a coping behavior led to a fear of COVID-19. These results suggested that the fear of becoming a source of infection may increase a nurse’s fear of COVID-19 and that the accumulation of physical fatigue may also lead to a fear of COVID-19. In addition, the results suggested that avoidant coping behaviors were related with infection fears, and that organizational support may be able to reduce nurses’ fear of COVID-19.

本研究は,教員志望の大学生を対象として,地域と学校教育の協働の重要性の認識を測定する尺度を作成することが目的であった.大学生341名に対する質問紙調査の結果,「地域の教育への活用」,「地域の未来のための教育」,「地域と学校の関わりによる子どもの発達」,「地域と学校の関わりの重要性」の4つの因子が得られた.地域愛着と地域社会への責任感,地域を題材としたカリキュラム開発への効力感という,地域と学校教育の協働の重要性の認識と関連をもつであろう他の変数との関連を検討したところ,有意な正の相関がみられた.この結果から,本尺度は一定の妥当性を有していることが明らかになった.

The Over-Adaptation Tendency Scale is designed to assess internal (self-inhibitive personality traits) and external (other-directed behavioral adaptation strategies) characteristics of over adaptation. The relationships among over-adaptation, subjective well-being, and family relationships were investigated using this scale. The scale was administered to undergraduate and graduate students (N = 408). The results indicated that for both men and women, all internal aspects of over-adaptation were significantly and negatively associated with the participant’s cognition of past, present, and future subjective well-being. Furthermore, for women, all external aspects of over-adaptation were significantly and positively associated with future subjective well-being and family cohesion was associated with both internal and external aspects. These results are discussed in relation to the characteristics of over-adaptation.
