This paper deals with the high-frequency equivalent circuits of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) driven by a PWM inverter. The leakage current (common-mode current) flows through stray capacitance among stator windings and iron core (frame) of an synchronous motor at the switching instants of inverter transistors. A high-frequency equivalent circuits of PMSM are derived based on the frequency characteristics of the high-frequency zero-phase-impedance and line-to-line-impedance of synchronous motor. The validity of the proposed equivalent circuit is confirmed by simulation considering parasitic capacitance of the inverter.

This paper concerns a DC-DC converter control. In DC-DC converters, there exist both continuous components such as inductance, conductance and resistance and discrete ones, IGBT and MOSFET as semiconductor switching elements. Such a system can be regarded as a hybrid dynamical system. Thus, this paper presents a dc-dc control technique based on the model predictive control. Specifically, a case in which the load of the dc-dc converter changes from active to sleep is considered. In the case, a control method which makes the output voltage follow to the reference quickly in transition, and the switching frequency be constant in steady state. In addition, in applying the model predictive control to power electronics circuits, the switching characteristic of the device and the restriction condition for protection are also considered. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated by comparing a conventional method through some simulation results.

In previous study, flashing phenomena in square wave alternating current have been discussed for flashing control. The results give a suggestion that PWM inverter has possibility to control flashing phenomena in half a cycle. In this study, flashing phenomena control strategy for flash welding is discussed by use of PWM inverter power supply. The results are summarized as follows : 1 PWM inverter enables to control flashing phenomena in half a cycle. 2 PWM inverter control for continuous flashing is proposed.
