The mechanical strength of ices, especially for the glacier has been studied since 19th century. However, there are few industrial applications such as mechanical processing tools without ice-blast. Because the specific data of mechanical properties for ice are unknown. Therefore, we produced four types of ices which had different clearness using aeration system, and measured the hardness of ices from 77 K to 268 K. Furthermore, the indentation displacements were also measured during the hardness test, so that the Elastic Recovery Ratios of ices were investigated in this study.

There have been many literary and theatrical works written after the Disaster of the Great East Japan Earthquake. Some have been played for general audience, but others were made and have been performed by high school students and teachers. There have been criticisms on the works made by those who were not experienced the disaster themselves. Yet, as art for future audience, imagination is more and more demanded.

As many members come from the wide areas in Aomori prefecture, the exercise is suspended unwillingly from the end of the college year to the early spring. By analyses on how the above exercise suspension influences on the body composition, physique and physical fitness of members of the female basketball club in our college, following results are obtained: 1) Weight is almost the same; 2) Although %FAT increases slightly, no significant difference is recognized; 3) FM increases slightly, but no significant difference is recognized; 4) LBM decreases for seven members among ten, and the obvious decrease of the average is recognized at 5% significant level; 5) The average of backstretch decreases slightly, but no significant difference is recognized; 6) V0_2max of all ten members decreases, and the obvious difference is recognized at 0.1% significant level; 7) Ability of all members decreases on how many meters they can run during twelve minutes, and the obvious difference is also recognized at 0.1% significant level; From the above results, followings are confirmed: Viewed from the body composition, nevertheless the rates of increase on %FAT and FM are less than male members, the above exercise suspension causes LBM to significantly decrease similarly to male members; Viewed from physical fitness, achievable distance with running in twelve minutes which is not measured for male members and VO_2max decrease significantly, and obvious influence on heart-lung capability is verified. Suspension causes endurance of physical fitness degradation, careful selection of training menu, therefore, must be considered as re-starting the exercise.

In order to lead student life, maintaining health, it is also an important element to carry, out proper weight observation by approaching from the physique-side. We collected fundamental date about the from analysis by BMI and the athletic ability and tried to make good use of them in the future. The unmbers of appearances of overweight on the basis of BMI were 39 boys out of 389 and 11 girls out of 123. Instruction and observation from a health side and a gymnastics side are required for the group of the overweight and a little overweight in the classification of corpulence degrees, which is a serious duty.

Garlic (Allium sativum L.) is widely used as a seasoning around the world. Aomori prefecture reached an approximately 70% share of the garlic production in Japan. Recently, agricultural industry is faced with big problem with human resource shortages and aging of the farmer. Additionally, the interest for food safety have been increasing with organic vegetables without use of any pesticides. In response to these issues, full control hydroponic cultivation systems are useful with less human resource and pesticide-free production under controlled cultivation environment. However, hydroponic culture for garlic cultivation is not established yet. In this study, we demonstrated hydroponic culture of garlic without use of any pesticides. As a result, hydroponic culture showed fast growing rate compared soil culture.

In this paper we deal with YG Personality Inventory (YGPI) in case of Heisei 18 third grader in Hachinohe National College of Technology. YGPI consists of 120 questions which are quite useful and also quite valuable to many companies, department to obtain information for their personnel. At school the YGPI helps teachers counsel students for their direction in seeking a profession. As a result, it turned out that distribution of a candidate is average.

A novel life-rhythm analysis system, which secures safety of living-alone seniors by sensor network, has been developed. Sensor network consists of sensor nodes which are composed of various sensors, CPU and a wireless communication module. Sensing data are transferred to the host computer through wireless communications among sensor nodes. Since the sensor network enables us to place processors and various kinds of sensors in any places, we can not only obtain much more life-rhythm information, but can also control electric appliances in the household. The developed system acquires sensing data from sensor network and transfers them to a database on a host computer through internet. Clients access the database through web browsers. The system was applied to measurement of actual home environment. As a result, it was shown that many kinds of life rhythms, such as washroom usage, rising hour, bed time, coming-home time, can be obtained at a time. Also it was confirmed that each sensor node can control external devices, such as LEDs. From these evaluations, we can say that the system is very promising for remote sensing of an extraordinary life rhythm of living-alone seniors and coping with such an unusual situation.
