It is quite important to empower teachers’ quality and capacity to enforce school education. To increase the number of “capable teachers” it is crucial to clarify the necessary quality of teacher. In this dissertation, good teachers’ recognition system of Japan and US would be compared. The difference of needy quality of both countries would be also compared. In Japan, only the principle can nominate a good teacher and write a letter of recommendation. The recommended teachers are screened by the board of education of cities and that of prefectures. As a result hundreds of teachers are recognized as “best teachers”. Teachers’ recognition system is not well known by the people. In the US, anyone can recommend any teacher as National Teacher of the Year (NTOY) and the finalist is only one person. Each year’s NTOY Appear on TV and give many lectures in and out of the country. He or she plays a role of spokesman. Japan needs more flexible system and should make effort the teachers recognition system well known. Japanese NTOY should contribute more to new teachers and incapable teachers.

Judaism, Christianity and Islam are monotheism. Each religion claims that its God is the real God. When we read the Bible and the Quran carefully however, we understand that the origin of each God is the God of Judaism. Christians believe in the Trinity, which means the God consists of the God of Old Testament, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. According to the Quran, Mohammed thought that the true believer was Abraham and the God of Abraham is Allah. Although three religions have a long history of disputes and struggles against each other, and there still is rivalry in the Middle East between Israel and Arab nations, they have believed in the same God. Therefore, I do not think that symbiosis of the three monotheism religions is impossible. The God himself will intervene into these three religions which believe in him.

As Haruki Murakami argued in his “Wall and Egg” speech, awareness of the problem demands answers to how to engage with the “system” today. In order to think about it, this paper will consider it from the perspective of the human activity of “community development”. Specifically, we will briefly trace the process of community/city development in postwar Japan, and organize the trends of community development today. Then, using the discussion between D. Graver and J. Scott as a springboard, we will attempt to build an idea for “anarchic community development” which is currently under consideration.

This article aims at clarifying and enriching the philosophy for inclusive society, opposing eugenic thought, which discriminates human beings by the inequality of ability. For that purpose, I emphasize first the value of fundamental human rights for all people, which Utilitarianism tends to neglect, and second other public values such as cohappiness, compassion and WA that includes the idea of restorative justice.

本稿は、システム論と呼ばれる学問の潮流が共生科学にとってどのような意義と限界を持つのかを探る一つの試みである。そのために筆者は、まず筆者なりに理解する共生科学の概念と方法論を提示し、次にシステム論と呼ばれる代表的な二つを取り上げ、それがどのような内容を有し、かつ論争を引き起こしたかを紹介した上で、共生科学にとってのシステム論ならびにその対抗ヴィジョンである規範的社会理論の利点と限界を定式化し、最後に、筆者がここ20年間提唱している「グローカル公共哲学」によって、共生科学の方法論を強化したいと思う。

This paper shows clearly that Buddhistic welfare activities are due to the fundamental thought of Kyosei. We had a new appreciation of a life-and-death transience according to the East Japan catastrophic disaster of 2011.3.11. The dead are not in a world now. However, we are alive with the dead. There are the three worlds of a past, the present, and future, and following one time-axis. It is important for us to recollect past quarters, to wish the welfare of quarters of the future, and to act. This is life-and-death Kyosei. The axiom of the Kyosei in Buddhism is a luck view. Four Institutes of Shitennoji temple told that Prince Shotoku founded was built based on the Fukuden thought, and became the model of growth of Buddhist welfare. The Fukuden thought is stacking good behavior in the present, and I am not that of"carrying out"and"I am allowed to carry out"a good behavior for others."Zenkon-Yado"and"O-Settai " entertainment to a pilgrim are the examples.

Scandals caused by sports players frequently occurred in recent years. What especially shocked me is a big scandal caused by two well-known Japanese Badminton top players, Kento Momota and Kennichi Tago, who gambled in illegal gambling casino. In my view, the most important matter in this scandal is that they lacked not only the humanity and the sociality as good citizenship, but also the sportsmanship as top athletes. Therefore, it should be strongly required for all coaches as well as players to recognize the meaning of sportsmanship and reaffirm determination not to give rise to such a scandal. Moreover, I would like to insist that real sportsmanship absolutely include the spirit of ‘Kyo-sei’ , which means the friendly and fair coexistence.

The purpose of this paper is to reconsider the relationship between the global and local dimensions of environmental ethics. Pluralists criticize global totalitarianism as a typical example of universalism that makes little of the diversity of communities. However, an important question is how the local dimensions of decision-making in each community can be connected to the global dimensions to address common global issues. One view to consider is that of the reflexive modernization theory of Ulrich Beck. This theory shows reflexivity is a common element of modernization, while characters and results of community modernization are various. This clarifies the nature of the relationships between global and local issues. It then becomes possible to define the relationship between global and local dimensions of environmental ethics more clearly by referring to such a viewpoint.

To realize an inclusive society, a child with disabilities should not be excluded from a school in the local community, if he or she and the guardians wish to attend the school. There is a child at the center of a case, which the child and the parents sued the boards of education in 2018 because they took measures that the child should attended to a special school: even though, the child and the parents refused the action. According to the order of enforcement of the school education act, a board of education designate a special school if a child has disabilities. However, the child and the parents wish to attend a local school, the board of education should respect to rights of their self-determination. Based on the general comment of the Convention of Rights of Persons with Disabilities, segregated models of education, which exclude students with disabilities from mainstream and inclusive education on the basis of disability, contravene the Convention. The Convention requires States parties to take all appropriate steps to ensure that reasonable accommodation is provided.

will examine the question of the relationship between sports and shared community living through the analytical lens of baseball. It will set forth five prerequisites for baseball. Baseball's diffusion and widespread acceptance and use that theoretical framework to elucidate the significance of the franchise system in Major League Baseball, Japan's colonial rule in Taiwan, Manchuria, Korea, and Japan's high school amateur baseball and professional baseball. Additional, the paper will highlight the Olympic Games, World Baseball Classic (WBC) and Hand Hit-ball as case studies of Japan's symbiotic relations with the world.

The first global civilization has been characterized by the dominance of PaxBritanica to be followed by Pax Americana for the past 200 years. Based on thephilosophical underpinning of individualism, such factors and values as marketeconomy, democracy, freedom, human rights and the rule of law in the broadframework of the nation-states system have been globalized with, however,increasing sense of uncomfortableness with this trend in various parts of theworld. With the decline of the influence of the United States and with theemergence of alternative values based on perspectives beyond individualism, anew global civilization seems to be in the offing.It should be essential for the intellectual community to come to grips withthis phenomenon up-front at this historic moment in time. The objective of thispaper is to present a rough sketch of the issues involved in analyzing thischallenge. The first set of issues are related to the problems that tend to arisein the context of civilizational change. The second set of issues are related tothe substance of the new civilization. At the end of the paper a series ofgeneral observations will be presented.

国際社会が権力政治化してきた。その主たる原因は新興国中国が米国に挑戦しているからであ る。近代国際社会においては、覇権国に対して政治体制の異なる新興国が挑戦すると、すべて世 界戦争になってきた。戦争を食い止めるために勢力均衡や相互確証破壊システムなどが試されて きたが、現在は中国の核能力が米国に対して相互確証破壊能力を築くことからはほど遠い状況に ある。勢力均衡は永続的な平和の維持を保証できないことが歴史上確認されている。他方20世紀の教訓として多国間システムが良く機能している場合には平和の持続性が確保され る、ということが明確になった。危険極まりない現状に対する対応は勢力均衡に努めるだけでな く、より根本的な対応としては多国間主義を強化することである。特に地球温暖化および開発協 力という 2 大分野でその必要性と可能性が高まりつつある。この二つの分野で多国間主義を強化 する鍵を実は日本が握っている。
