Dispersion, rheology and consolidation of the colloidal suspension in the alumna powder-silicon nitride whisker system were studied to control the microstructure and density of the green compact. Al_2O_3 particles with au average diameter of 0.15 μm and Si_3N_4 whiskers with an average size of 0.4 μmX3.7μm were electrostatically dispersed in water in the pH range 3 to 10 and consolidated by filtration. Well- dispersed stable suspensions were obtained at low pH. Decreasing the viscosity and at the same time increasing the solid content of the suspension is the hey step in making the green compact with high density and a narrow pore size distribution. Application of isostatic pressing to compacts consolidated by filtration increased green density and shifted the pore size distribution to smaller size. These green compacts by colloidal processing were densities to relative densities of 98.4-99.4% by hot-pressing at 1500℃ at a pressure of 39 MPa in N_2 atmosphere.

音楽聴取が情動にどのような影響を及ぼすかを明らかにするために実験を行った.被験者は健康な女子大学生31名.セッションは, 安静保持と検者が選択した音楽と被験者が選択した好みの音楽(どちらも落ち着くことを目的として選択された)を用いた.情動変化を測定するために心理テストProfille of Mood States(POMS)を用い, その絶果を解析した.短時間の音楽聴取により, POMSの「活気」以外の各因子において, 明らかに一時的な情動変化が観察された.その変化は音楽のジャンルに関係なく, 一貫したパターンを示した.これらの結果から, 音楽聴取はホメオスタティックな情動変化を起こしていることが考えられた.

中国では,多くの海外出稼ぎ者や移住者を送出した地域を「僑きょう郷きょう」とよんでいる。本研究では,浙江省の主要都市である温州市に隣接し,伝統的な僑郷であった青田県が,新華僑の送出により,僑郷としての特色がいかに変容してきたかについて,現地調査に基づいて考察することを目的とした。 山間に位置し貧困であった青田県では,清朝末期には,特産品である青田石の加工品を販売するため,陸路でシベリアを経てヨーロッパに出稼ぎする者も少なくなかった。光緒年間(1875 ~ 1908 年)には,ヨーロッパよりも日本へ出稼ぎに出る者が増加した。しかし,関東大震災の発生後,日本への出稼ぎの流れは途絶え,青田人の主要な出国先はヨーロッパになっていった。 中国の改革開放政策の進展に伴い,海外渡航者が急増し,青田県では出国ブームが起こった。その主要な渡航先はスペイン,イタリアを中心とするヨーロッパであった。海外在住者からの送金・寄付・投資などにより,僑郷である青田県の経済は発展した。ヨーロッパ在住者やヨーロッパからの帰国者の影響は,僑郷の景観や住民のライフスタイルにも現れている。

Citizen watch co., ltd have commercialized radio controlled watches for 12 years and succeeded in the development of the full metal base radio controlled watch which is using cal. H41 movement two years ago. This year, we have also accomplished the development of the micro miniature cal. H33 movement which is available for a full metal base radio controlled watch for women. We will report the two systems which is needed to realize the micro miniature cal. H33 movement at the next section. One is an antenna system and the other is an circuit system including the receiver circuit.

Development in sheet steels has progressed with a strong relation with automotive industry in Japan. To meet with the requirements from automotive industry, various types of sheet steels including high and ultra-high strength steel sheets have been developed. Progresses in three types of steel series will be discussed by checking the historical facts and technologies and their contributions. Introductions of interstitial free (IF) steel and continuous annealing system are the important events in mild steel developments for panels. Extensive work on finding the optimum mixtures of hard and soft phases to improve elongation of steels contributed to improve the crashworthiness of autobodies. Continuous annealing system also played an important role in producing these advanced high strength steels. Precipitation is used in characteristic ways which is to scavenge solute carbon and nitrogen and to prevent coarse cementite particle precipitation. It is also worth to point out that the strong collaborative activities particularly characteristic in Japan between steel manufacturers and auto companies have affected on the progress in advanced sheet steels.

ネコ組織からAGPC法を用いてTotal-RNAを抽出し、Oligo-dTラテックスビーズ法を用いてmRNAを精製した後、ネコKlf4、Oct3/4、Sox2、およびAQP2遺伝子クローニングに成功した。ネコKlf4、Oct3/4、およびSox2は、pCl-neo Mammalian Vectorに挿入され、ネコ皮膚の初代線維芽細胞に導入を試みたが、iPS細胞の作出はできなかった。ネコAQP2は、pTrancer-EF-Bsdに挿入し、CrFK細胞と293細胞に導入したところ少数ではあるが、高発現GFP細胞が分離でき、有意に水分吸収量の増加がみられた。

Hemophagocytic syndrome (HPS) is a clinicopathological entity characterized by histiocytic proliferation, with marked hemophagocytosis in the reticuloendothelial organs. HPS caused by lymphoma is termed lymphoma-associated hemophagocytic syndrome (LAHS), and there are few reports on canine and feline LAHS. The objective of this study was to examine the clinical, diagnostic, and clinicopathologic features of LAHS in six dogs. The diagnostic criteria of LAHS consisted of lymphoma, bicytopenia or pancytopenia in the blood, and increased hemophagocytosis in the reticuloendothelial organs. In one dog, an ocular form of lymphoma was recognized. A splenic form was recognized in two dogs, and a hepatosplenic form was recognized in three dogs. Immunophenotyping revealed T-cell origin in five dogs and B-cell origin in one dog by polymerase chain reaction for antigen receptor rearrangement analysis. Nonspecific esterase stain was performed to differentiate between neoplastic lymphocytes and hemophagocytes. All five dogs with T-cell lymphoma were diagnosed with large granular lymphocyte (LGL) lymphoma. In three cases, palliative therapy with glucocorticoids was conducted, while the other three cases received chemotherapy as well. The survival times for the three dogs with glucocorticoids only were 6, 6, and 10 days and were 30, 54, and 68 days for the three treated with anticancer therapy. The median survival time for the dogs was 20 days. This report indicates that canine LAHS is likely to be caused by LGL lymphoma, and it has an aggressive behavior and poor general prognosis, as seen in humans.

In this paper I propose to examine the myth that the Harvard Classics (1909-1910) directly influenced the development of the enpon zenshū (oneyen books, a collection of inexpensive volumes published in the late 1920s). I intend to do so through investigating the similarity between the Harvard Classics and two enpon, Kaizō-sha’s Gendai nihon bungaku zenshū (1926) and Shinchō-sha's Sekai bungaku zenshū (1927). In his memoir, the editor and critic Ki Kimura (1894-1979) revealed “the origin of the enpon zenshū.” Having purchased a set of the second edition of the Harvard Classics, Kimura approached Sanehiko Yamamoto (1885-1952), the president of the Japanese publishing house, Kaizō-sha, and suggested the possibility of publishing a similar collection in Japan. Yamamoto immediately hit upon the idea of the enpon as a multi-volume anthology of Japanese contemporary literature, which went on to attract many readers and to generate incredible sales. Kimura also suggested the idea of the huge anthology to an editor at Shinchō-sha. In addition, Kimura clearly asserted that Gendai nihon bungaku zenshū 's formal structure and content were designed after the model of the Harvard Classics. While the avid editor Kimura wished to dignify and canonize his own collections by drawing on the prestige of the Harvard brand, a close comparison of these monumental anthologies suggests that the Harvard Classics in fact had little influence on the enpon zenshū. Perhaps more interesting, however, are the similar cultural and pedagogical shifts (e.g., the general public’s aspiration for higher education) in the U.S. and Japan that led to both anthology booms.
