Recently, energy harvesting has attracted increasing attention. The present study focuses on vibration generators based on piezoelectric elements by proposing an internal capacitor cancel control (ICCC) rectifier to improve the output power. The proposed rectifier cancels the internal capacitor to improve the output power while retaining the maximum output power. Accordingly, this paper experimentally demonstrates the improvement in output power by using the ICCC rectifier compared to conventional circuits and the previous proposed circuit.

Generally, in electric equipment, a large inrush current flows in the capacitor when the power is turned on. The inrush current causes deposition of terminals and switches, melting of fuses, and so on. Therefore, conventional inrush current prevention circuits using an electrical relay and a controller are provided. However, the use of electrical relay enhances concern about an increase in cost and charge-time. In order to solve these problems, this paper proposes the inrush current prevention circuit without electrical relay. In this paper, the authors examine the effectiveness of the proposed circuit from experimental results.

The grid connection inverter is built in the PCS (Power Conditioning Subsystem) for the distributed power supply, such as photo voltaic system. In order to utilize the power source, it is necessary that the grid connection inverter of the PCS predicts the load and output fluctuation in customer side. Therefore, this paper investigates a load estimation in the grid connection inverter of the PCS. The proposed estimation method adds superimposing perturbative signals in the inverter reference. The validity of the proposed estimation method is experimentally verified. In addition, the perturbative signals for load estimation consist of three different frequency components. As the result, it is experimentally clarified the proposed method improves the estimation accuracy.

A Tesla coil is a resonant transformer circuit that generates very high voltages which are made to arc through the air. Recently, a solid state Tesla coil was produced according to developing the semiconductor. In addition, the solid state Tesla coil makes sound by the air discharge. Hence, the sound is used as musical devices. In the past, the musical solid state Tesla coils are generated by PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) method. However, it is difficult to use the high pitch sound and the tone color. This paper investigates the musical solid state Tesla coil by using not PWM method but PRF (Pulse Repetition Frequency) method. As the result, the proposed musical solid state Tesla coil provides good sound.

In order to adjust the power in the PCS, it is necessary that the grid connection inverter of the PCS predicts the load and output fluctuation in the customer side. Therefore, this paper investigates a load estimation in the grid connection inverter of the PCS. The proposed estimation method adds a superimposing pseudo random binary sequence to the inverter reference. The validity of the proposed estimation method is verified experimentally. As a result, it is experimentally clarified that the estimation is possible even for inductive loads.

一般に,交流/直流電力変換器は,新幹線,ハイブリッド自動車,太陽光発電用パワーコンディショナなどの多くのアプリケーションで使用されている.そこで本研究では,交流/直流電力変換器に最適なパルス幅変調(Pulse Width Modulation; PWM)法を明らかにする.具体的には,高調波フィルタを接続しないモータドライブシステムには指令値シフト二相PWM法が,太陽光発電用パワーコンディショナや高調波フィルタを接続するモータドライブシステムにはパルス重畳二相PWM法が適していることを明らかにした.
