本研究では、「公共空間」や「公共性」をキータームとして、神道史と都市史・都市計画史、地域社会史の分野などを接続することで、具体的な史料に基づく新たな「国家神道」研究を試みた。神社境内やその隣接空間を「公共空間」として捉え、新旧〈帝都〉である東京と京都との比較の観点を導入することによって、寺院とは異なる神社独自の「公共性」の歴史や、神社の造営と環境整備に係わる人的系譜やその相関関係について解明した。

本稿は、災害時に被災した歴史資料(被災資料)の保全活動と、その担い手を社会のなかに広げるための方法について、阪神・淡路大震災を機に設立されたボランティア団体である歴史資料ネットワーク(史料ネット)の取り組みから考えようとするものである。史料ネットの活動の基礎には、地域の歴史資料そのものを保存するだけではなく、それを実現するための拙い手を、社会のなかに広げようという考えがある。これが、2004年の水害対応をきっかけとして、水損資料の応急処置方法とともに、「どこでも・誰でも・簡単に」資料保全の担い手になることができるという意識の普及を目指す水損資料修復ワークショップの実践へと展開した。この取り組みをさらに広げていくために、東日本大震災や紀伊半島水害の被災地における「思い出の品」を残す取り組みのような、被災地のニーズに即して史料ネットの日常的な実践を捉え面すことの必要を提起し、実際に史料ネットが始めている試みを紹介した。The purpose of this study is providing method for spreading subjects conserve, disaster-damaged historical materials, as a case of "The volunteer network for historical materials"."The volunteer network for historical materials" have conserved disaster-damaged historical materials since the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake in l995. Their mission is not only conservation of damaged materials, but also spreading subjects conserve these materials. And they have held workshops for achievement of this mission.Now, in damaged areas, people look for their memorial materials like photos, home movies. Based on this movement, "The volunteer network for historical materials" try to spread objects of conservation through their workshops.
